I can also take people with me, but I do need another driver with me, cause it sounds like a long drive there...

Re: 2010 March on DC

Update...2010 March on Washington is a go for April 15...goal is 3,000,000 people (actual)...book rooms & campgrounds now...within a 2 hour drive of DC...plan to sleep in your car or whatever you have to do...prepare to camp for 2-3 days if needed. Get a chemical toilet with pop-up shelter (even thought there will be thousands of "portables" they will be stressed.) as inconvenient it may, be but remember the consequences if we don't...alot worse for our future and that of our children...it will take 3+ Million for them to take notice.....
(PS. You culd empty your Chemical toilet in a portable or park over a storm drain for a few minutes...)

Re: 2010 March on DC

The first post was in Feb. 09... and the march is April 2010?

That's not enough time to get ready...

Can we push this out to 2012? lol

I only now got back from the march protesting the Bush - Gore election fraud... lol

Re: 2010 March on DC

You know, at this point I'm more a fan of encouraging our state to exercise its own sovereignty as opposed to falling on Washington. Washington only has power because We The People allow it to. If we help our state grow a pair, we can use Nullification to legally over-ride any unconstitutional crap that DC can generate. I think we should focus our efforts locally. Also - with Maine being an Open Carry state, and a good percentage of us already have or will be getting our CCWs by April, we COULD do an armed march. I must admit that we should probably notify LEO's prior to such a march, as well as the news, etc. I think anything less would be asking for serious trouble. Also, I think it would need to be closely contained - maybe even specify liaisons to the press, etc. to keep them from misquoting us or portraying us like a "bunch of gun-toting bubbas in camo running through the woods yelling at the government" (man, I still love that quote! LOL). If you're not cleared to speak, you can either say "no comment" or "just here to exercise my 2nd Amendment rights". The BIG problem with this is image. What image are we going to allow the media to use - what image do we want them to see? I think intelligent, law-abiding, morally outraged citizens with legally owned firearms that are not going to start a shoot-out in down-town Augusta would be the wise choice.

My thoughts, anyway.

Re: 2010 March on DC

If I may offer my opinion: it's my view that however a person dresses for work is how he/she should show for an open-carry march. The reason I think is obvious - to show to public that it's everyday people who own weapons and not the camo wearin', pick-up truck drivin', beer-sloshin' ragtag gangs they perceive us to be.

Poster's note: I drive a pick-up LOL

Rev, best idea I have heard for going to the march.

Some wanted all to wear T-shirts with sayings I would never say or wear on a shirt.

A person should be who they are.

Re: 2010 March on DC

NOTE: there are 2 - YES TWO - marches scheduled in April, 2010. the first is the TEA Party Tax Day March on the 15th. The second is the 2nd Amendment March on the 19th. I posted a link for the 2nd Amendment March a couple days ago here in this thread. If you're interested in the TEA Party Express March go to TeaPartyExpress.org. The schedule is there. While some who come here don't see the relevence in going to DC, i'm of the opinion that pressure is still pressure regardless the direction it comes from. If $$ is the issue then my thoughts would be to be at as many State-level rallies and such as my time would allow. There will be an April 15th rally in Augusta as well.

We must do as our Founding Fathers did: exhaust all reasonable means.....
