There will be a CPR/1st Aid Class Saturday, Nov 13,0800-1700 in Bangor at the Dorothy Dix center.
ALL Regions are welcome and ALL members urged to attend if at all possible. This is the kind of thing we've all(?) waited for - REAL TRAINING - and here it is. Scoff if you must but the MPM has done more of value(imho) in the last 5 months than in the previous 5 so let's get as many up behind this as possible. Smurf needs a head count ASAP. I have started a thread for that in the "Training Calander" Section titled "November CPR/1st Aid" Hope to see YOU there |

update: the cost is 60/person which frankly I think is ridiculous, even if it is for 2 classes.
Like I said my wife and I are taking it regardless so I'd be happy to teach a course for anybody that doesn't want to drop the 60. I'll post the phone number to register this weekend. I did check into getting the town hall up in Lowell and I can get it if we decide we want to have our own class, minimum for that is 10. That's about all I can think of right now as far as info.

smurf is right, once the course has been taken by some, they can teach the others, you might not get a card that says you have completed the course, but i certainly would not hold it against you if you were to save my life with what you have learned. i have taken the cpr/firstaid course, and i think i have at least two of the training books that were given to me, if anybody wants to use them they will be welcome to. this course will help anyone who takes it, as far as knowledge goes anyway, but you will need the proper medicle supplies in your gear, as goofy as it may sound, i carry a few maxipads, it turns out that they can stop blood flow rather well. rubber bands, and mechanics wire are also usefull in a bad situation, but i'll stop rambleing for now.
