I don`t like it...can`t use anything larger than a 4" with out a inspection, dredge hrs 10 am to 4pm ect. ect. way to many restrictions on us and not on fishermen ( I fish) and on wave runners and boaters ( I Boat).

Not much to be happy about. 1,500 permits max, size restrictions,time restrictions, etc.. This is worse than the draft eir.

And I quote from last 3 lines in the second paragraph



"CDFG is currently prohibited from issuing suction dredge permits under the Fish and Game Code, and suction dredging is currrently prohibited until June 30, 2016."

They should not hap hazardly close off areas without specfic site analysis that supports closure during certain times. So many places are class A under the new regs. Not acceptable without specific observation. Onsite inspection, ok no problem just guarantee you'll be there in a reasonable amount of time. I can see them showing up at the end of the season.

If you sign up for the new permit you are bound by it's regulations....it's a contract. I say just go dredge, you have a permit from the Federal Governmant, approved by Congress. I think that will be my approach, would be nice to have others come along with this.

Some are using this approach in Oregon with success, but dredging is still allowed there, which makes it a bit more doable.

10am-4pm...geez what a joke...

Seriously, are they really going to even consider any comments? If ab 120 denies dredging until 2016, why are they in such a hurry? (because of the Court Order?).

EVERY ONE OF US SHOULD BE CALLING THE DF&G TO DEMAND AN EXTENSION!!! Read the ICMJ link that Joe put up. Every one of us should be writing a challenge letter!

The Federal permit I refer to is the 1872 Mining Law passed by The United States Congress. Giving all Americans the right to look for, claim and mine the locatable minerals found in the public domain.

California seems to have a problem with this, as does the USFS...
