Re: highbanker question
Hi J:

Using either the 12V pump or the gas engine pump is the same. You would put the pump down near a water source and put the hose/foot valve (that is attached to the inlet of the pump) into the water (I would suggest putting the foot valve inside a bucket to keep materials from getting sucked into the pump).

The water is drawn up from the river through the pump and into the hose that goes to your highbanker.

I have never used an electric pump with my highbanker but unless you're using a recirculating system, I would stick with a gas powered engine to ensure you get the pressure you need.

Hope this helps.

Re: highbanker question
The girls are pretty right on this one.

Most electric systems are micro concentrators used to process concentrates or small samples, and have recirculating water systems.

There may be some people using electric systems to "highbank" with, but if you plan on shoveling all day or running buckets, you will want the water flow that only a gas powered highbanker has.

As far as the Jobe Highbanker with a trash pump, I have never used one.

If you are considering buying one, I would call Montine or Myrna in the office at 530-493-2012 and they should be able to advise you as to what type of system will work the best for your plans and financial resources.
