Hyro-force nozzle Been up and down the Klamath from I-5 to Ukonom claim looking for a gravel bar that I can hydro force nozzle 300 feet from the river into a highbanker. Cannot find a gravel bar large enough to get that far from the water. At Ferry Landing the bar is big enough, with attractive sites to use this method, but I do not think it is part of our claims. I have a boat for access to the south side of the river but do not know where I can go. Any ideas? I have been crack-vacing on Ukonom with fair results...but I want to move some real estate!

Re: Hyro-force nozzle Elliot Bar has several stair steps up away from the river on the far side. There has been almost zero activity over there, since a boat is required for access. Two of our early members who moved away from Happy Camp many years ago confided in me last summer that they did really good on the far side out of a lower strata of streambed that was exposed by old time historical hydraulic mining. They said they redirected water from Elliot Creek to the work site through old water flumes so they could run their high-banker. Access with the boat is from a road which goes down closer to the river on the lower end. Those might be very productive. Re: Hyro-force nozzle Thank you for the info Dave! I plan to get back to the river next week for a few days. I have a motorized inflatable that I think I can access those steps from Coons Creek boat landing. I tried the access on the lower end and it is too difficult to get my rig in there via the make-shift road from the cul-de-sac access. Unless there is another way. The upper end of the mega hole also looks good. Easy access there. Hope to see you one of these days.
