Rogue River around Gold Ray Dam Closes Starting June 15th, 2010
A 1,500-foot stretch of the Rogue River around Gold Ray Dam at River Mile 125.5 will be closed beginning Tuesday. Officials with the Oregon State Marine Board approved the temporary rule that will close the river through Oct. 15 from 500 feet downstream of the dam to 1,000 feet upstream of the dam during its removal. TouVelle State Park is the last public boat ramp upstream of the river closure.

“Officials ruled to close this small section of the river in an effort to ensure public safety during the removal of the Gold Ray Dam” said John Vial, the director of Jackson County Roads and Parks. “During demolition of the dam, it is likely that unsafe boating conditions will be present in this section of the river, and the waterway may be unstable.” The temporary river closure will be enforced by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol.

-I'm not sure how this will effect dredgers further down below the dam. Maybe alot of cloudy water and higher water levels when they actually start to remove the dam, which seems to be fairly soon.

What do you think Oregon DEQ is going to say about all the "105 years of silt" that will be releasted to the river system when that dam is breached? That will be the biggest turbidity trail in history. :fishwhack:
