Would you like to have a newbie work with you this summer? ( 04:18:40 ThuMay 3 2012 )

Prospecting friends:

Peace to you.

If you're an experienced prospector in the Northern CA, southern Oregon area, a new 49er... do you need a newbie prospector to work alongside you this spring/summer?

I'm a man who is looking into camping (or staying) in the Happy Camp area this spring and summer, with my family in tow, learning the real deal of gold prospecting.

It seems that joining up with the new 49er's is a great first step for that.

And, I would be very glad to befriend and work alongside a much more knowledgeable and experienced prospector who needs someone to work with him.

I ought to say, up-front, that my availability for working together would be: daily after 1:30 PM (I have to work my day job in the morning), and I would not be available to work on saturdays.

I hope that this note finds everyone very well. I hope to hear back from one of you guys who knows this business, and has for a long time, and would like to share it with a new fellow (and maybe my boy, too... he's 7 and he likes to work with me whenever he can).

Warm regards to all of you,

Benjamin

I know that Dave does some outings on the weekends in HappyCamp, Booming and High banking are a big hit with everyone from what I hear, this would be a great way for you to get some hands on and learn some knowledge about gold.

Most of us are running dredges in Southern Oregon, if you think you want to learn about that let me know maybe i can set you up dredging for a few days.

Thank-you, @YellowFever! I will definitely keep your idea in mind, about a few days of dredging.

Never having been to that California/Oregon mining heaven, I am kinda wondering whether there is someone who plans to spend a number of weeks or months working the dredge or sluice or whatever, and who needs more manpower for some reason.

Maybe there is an old hand in the prospecting game, whose back isn't what it once was, but who knows how to read the sign in gold country. Maybe he could recover more gold by splitting the findings with me, than he could working all by himself.

Maybe there's an underwater dredging prospector, who needs a second man for his two-man operation, so he can switch off with someone, etc. That second someone might be me!

I am open to hearing of any opportunities you have, and I do appreciate your taking the time. I am a win-win sort of fellow, so I am really just hoping that there is a master-prospector out there who could be even better off with a trainee as a partner.

Peace on all of you! And, thanks!

Benjamin

Hello Benjamin,

You may be just what I am looking for.

My longtime dredging partner has hurt his back and won't be able to come up here to S. Oregon this season to work with me. I run a newer four inch Proline suction dredge on thw Rogue River, and live in Medford Or.

I only have a little over 40 yrs. of experience, on and off running a suction dredge and prospecting.
Send me a PM message with your contact info and I will contact you and we can talk.

Best Reguards

Jim Yerby ....
