I gather that DFW will begin enforcing the new expanded definition of "suction dredging." We are advising the few remaining underwater miners to remove underwater suction mining gear.

Of the few remaining underwater miners, I gather most have them have already converted to crevicing, some with the assistance of a pressure nozzle.

Dave, are the fire restrictions still in effect (pump engines on floats)? I'm heading up that way on the 22nd, I'm guessing the fire restrictions will remain in place until it gets wet...

"Stage 1 Fire Restrictions: Until further notice, the U.S. Forest Service is not allowing internal combustion engines in the Klamath National Forest, except on established roadways and on active waterways. Therefore, members who are pursuing motorized high-banking activity over the past few weeks have been placing their pumps either out on floats, or on piles of rocks and material constructed in the shallow water."

Is this is only for motorize equipment or includes non-motorize equipment?

2cmorau,

This Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for internal combustion engines, as Mark pointed out.

Are hand suction devices outlawed also? Where can we go to see the new written laws? I thought the judges overruled the emergency request from DFG, putting it on hold.
