Welcome to the New 49ers Rick! You'll love it, the area and most of all the people. My first recommendation would be to look at the long-term camping area at K15. It has great access for you and easy to get to areas to work that will still get you gold. I would read up on some the club activities there as listed at the bottom of the page to get you started in the right direction

You might check out K-16, which has a number of campsites, easy access, and good gold in the area both up and downstream of camp. I haven't been to this claim for a few years, so maybe someone else will have more current info.
Check w/ Montine.
Good Luck!

Welcome!! Check out south fork Indian creek. I'm a newbie also and have been there a couple of times, there's good gold there and no problem getting there with a two wheel drive. There's usually not many people there, I've been there and had the creek to myself. Very short walk to the creek to. Nice camping area too. Good Luck!!
