I recently watched a few Youtube videos of guys working a Gravity Dredge system. Would this setup be legal to use in California?

Also, are hand-operated suction devices legal to use in CA?

In mid September, I had a meeting with supervisory and management law enforcement staff of California Fish and Wildlife. During this meeting I was informed that the use of a gravity dredge system is legal since it is not motorized.

Additionally, the use of hand operated suction devices are still legal.

Rich, thanks for your reply.

I would think some of the inventive minds in our mining group would think of new, innovative ways to capture the benefits of water flowing downhill.

Anyone inspired to share their ideas? (It's going to be a long, cold winter without a new mining project to work on.)
