Hey Pascal,
I left the last weekend in September with my camper. Doug let me park my dredges at his place for a couple of weeks. Doug, Hayes, and myself took a trip down to the south fork of the Yuba river and packed in a 3" dredge 4 miles. Doug and I decided to float is back out at the end of the trip. I wish I had a camera along. It was quite an adventure! Rapids, rocks, and waterfalls for 6 miles. Some awsome looking streambed we floated over. I put the trailers in storage yesterday. I already found the dock floats I'm going to use under the 6". I'll have her ready to go come spring. Are you gonna try to make it back next summer? Thanks for posting the pics. Looks like a beautiful city! Take care of yourself you French river otter. Robert |

Hey Robert and Pascal,
I will cook for you guys anytime. We sure had a good group of Dredgers at K-15 this year. It was one of the best summers to date. Otto runs a great camp. Robert, I also wish you had had a camera. Sounds like it was a real "Mouse Ride. I talked to Otto last week and he said it went well. Good on you, as Dave Beatson would say. By the way are you out there Captain Beatson? Pascal, I hope you come back next summer. I was very impressed by your survival skills. Did you ever get the hood back on your wetsuit vest and how did the Farmer John work out? Keep in touch, Jeff |

Hi Robert, I'm the guy in pop up trailer accross from you when you left. The African Queen was a steam tug, river type in the movie Casablanca with Humfry Bogart and Kate Hepburn, Great movie at the time, a classic then.
Hope to see all next summer as well, great bunch there. Bob. |

G´day Rob, Doug, Jeff, Pascal. Yep, I´m on line at last. Had a wee bit of a problem getting on but sorted now. Weather here in NZ, wet, but warm. Snow down south. Went prospecting in the ???? (just in case) , usual au with hand tools, going in with Dredge next week. Looking good. Dredge just about finished (5inch) and hitting South Island in Feb. Got to catch that $800+ to pay for next trip to klamath!! Family all coming, booked, ouch, big $$$$$´s. Hope you all are well. Rob, I have your fathers e mail but not yours, mine is shown, drop me a line. Very busy at work Jeff, have not stopped since back, 5 years to go.
Take care all. Kiwi out. |

Actually, it was not in the movie "Casablanca". The movie was the "African Queen". Bogey made a lot of great movies. My favorite was "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" where Bogey played the prospector Fred C. Dobbs. |

Hi all
HeHe I'm back, my laptop is alive. Yeah the only use I can do on this river is for a relic dredge, no big gold on that river just all microscopic. But there does is gold near me. I am currently looking some old surveys but anyway there is place in the world with much more gold than quebec. Yeah Jeff i repaired everything and the farmers fit me well. The farmer is now in quebec. You should have seen the look of the borders agents when I told them that i bougth everything in my car for 300$. Btw now I am all clean, shave, short hair no Jesus sandals but big winter boots. Yesterday there was 1 feet of snow on the top of the little green mobile. Still running with the california plates. I dont know if I will be back next year, I am following some dredging projects that are happening around the world, with differents compagnies and differents kinds of minerals. I am just waiting my winter vacations to be able to take a good look at the possibilities. I made some contacts, I just need to get off my job for a time it is consuming all my time, I have to be dress like a bear to work outside, it look like siberia. Anyone know what is going on with Dave McCracken dredging projects? See you guys Pascal Fortier |

Hi: Robert
I didn't get a chance to come back to the river after our dredging project in July, I tried three time and something always came up. I sure enjoyed the time on K-15. How did you survive the storm? Do you live close to Lake I-5? Bob Keith |

To tell you the truth I was holed up in my room all weekend and did not watch the news. I was not even aware of the flooding and weather till Wednesday when my boss and his wife showed up for work. They had been stranded on the coast for 4 days without power, fuel, or natural gas. Sounded like a good time to me! How did you fair?

micropedes1 Offline 153 posts Reply |
Hey Doug. Do you have any pics of your sluice box?
|
|
pascalfortier Offline 138 posts Reply |
Like I told Laurie, (Ben Mother) Yeah my dredge had too much gold in the sluice box so the dredge sunked.
The tailfish sluice box was a great idea, but like my father always use to tell me there is always a difference between the theory and the pratical. So you are going to put a straigth sluice box? Or add a side sluice box. At least it never sunked. How much money for the new pontoons? The black carpet in the front was really great. If only there was something more than flood gold. Take care, You lucky magical, ladies charming Teeth! |

I'm thinking of making a straight box designed around the clubs 6" promack with the front section easyer to clean and back section screened over. I the floats I found are about $100 each. I'll get four of them and build some custom ends for the fast water. Also adding a winch, Alternator, lights, quieter muffler system, front platform, and solid carpeted decking over the pontoons.

no pics of box go to keenes web site.hope you r not thinking of doing the triple
|
|
micropedes1 Offline 153 posts Reply |
No way. I got rid of my 5" triple 'cause it was too heavy. Even the box on my 8 is easier to move. I just wanted the pic to compare my construction with that of your Keene.
Never mind. I actually have a pic of your sluice. I guess that I forgot where I had put it. |
