Boating permit on the river ( 13:38:40 TueJan 8 2008 )

Just curious of what type of red tape is there for getting a boating permit for use on the Klamath? I am an out of state dredger, so how much is a permit? Do you really need one on the river?

Any floating craft with any type of motor requires it be licesed with your home state DMV. If it is hand powered, (paddles, oars), then no permit is needed

Mark, If you lic your car in AZ, then lic your boat there also. It will be legal in CA, Don't know about the lake thing, sounds like another liberal way of milking the public. Don't matter anyhow as you will be on the river.

You need a permit for a surfboard if it has a motor. NO motor No permit required.

I have an inflatable 12' zodiac type and I put my registration on the boat with waterproof black pen, and the sticker on the motor. If F&G has a problem with it then they can talk to their office as it was them that said it only had to be displayed. If I put it on the raft, then when deflated, it would come off. Besides they said if the officer doubted if it was legit then he could call in to find out if indeed it was registered. no problem
