Hi there folks. My Name is Wayne Evans and I live in Caldwell, Idaho. Just 22 miles from Boise. I just signed up as an associate member to your club and wanted to say hi here of the forum. I don't have much expereince with gold prospecting and the amount of learning opputunites that your club offers is one of the reasons that I joined. I am planinig to go to Happy Camp in August and particpate in a weekend project then also stay and work it the following week. I would appreciate any and all advice yuo could send my way, on what to bring, what to wear. and etc. Also any people that I should get in touch with. Thank you in advance. Wayne

AUgust weather is HOT. Cooler nights, but it can reach 105 degrees in midafternoon. Poison oak is everywhere, so bring something to treat it. If you camp near the river, you'll need good mosquito dope. And bring your favorite high alcoholic content spirits to soothe those aching muscles after tossing rocks all day.

Welcome Wayne.
Everyone here likes to offer help. My home town is Moscow and my Grandmother was from Payette and just sold her ranch last year. I am sure that if you have signed up for a group project, that you were provided with a list of things to bring. The information given to you by the club should be very complete as it is the result of over twenty years experience. As far as who to get in touch with I would recommend this. Make a point of going to the Saturday potluck and there you will have the chance to meet everybody that is in town mining. Mark |
