I RECENTLY SPENT A DAY INSPECTIONG SOME CLAIMS I HAVE NEAR THE 49'RS SALMON RIVER CLAIMS. I HAD THE PRIVLEDGE OF MEETING SEVERAL OF THE 49'R MEMBERS AND I HAVE TO SAY, I FOUND THEM TO BE VERY GREAT PEOPLE. THEY GAVE ME SOME TIPS ON THE AREA AND WERE A TREASURE TROVE OF INFORMATION.
NOW FOR THE GOOD PART.. I WONT DISCLOSE THERE LOCATION BUT THEY WERE DOING QUIT WELL SIMPLY SCRATCHING OUT THE CRACKS IN THE BEDROCK. I HAVE WORKED ON MANY MANY CLAIMS IN ALASKA, RARELY HAVE I SEEN GOLD OF THIS AMOUNT COME FROM CREVASING.. MY HAND GOES OUT TO THOSE GUYS.. I HOPE YOU DID EVEN BETTER AFTER I LEFT.. OH BTW,,, I MADE IT BACK TO FLORIDA IN 2 LONG LONG DAYS. AND THX FOR THE TIP ON STORRING MY CAMPER SEE YALL BACK THERE IN JUNE

Sounds good AK_KID. I plan an extended trip or two down to the north fork this year. Can hardly wait for the dredge season to open up but plan on going down and doing some crevicing and firing up the vac-pac as soon as it warms up a bit more for the old bones.

Does anyone know of where I can call to see what the road conditions are over the Etna Pass?

i was in that area last week and there was very little snow or ice.. down on the river there was none and very nice weather...its going to fluctuate this time of year but id say the snow and ice is done for...

I did do well even better upstream of where you seen use working over 1/2 ounce in two days not even whole days also did alittle on yours close to the water at the end of the trail going down and there was great color should be a great claim good to see you made it home safe hope to see ya on the river again

Hay AK Kid, what you doing in Fl. There's not enough gold to make worth while. Unless you are treasure hunting. The wife and I moved from Dunedin Fl.out to Happy Camp in 2000. Best thing short of AK., and that is still in the high hope stage.
