I have a close friend that wants to invest in gold eagles. While the spot price is in place, it seems that none of our local coin dealers can get their hands on any.
Does anyone out there know a reputable source that has gold eagles in stock? Or can get them in? Or how about some other reputable bullion gold coins? Preferably in Oregon? Thanks for any help!! |

Hi Dave,
I don't know about Oregon but there are on-line dealers that say they have gold. Try Blanchard- I just checked their website and Gold Eagles are shown. http://www.blanchardonline.com/home.php Or also, APMEX and/or Kitco. Good Luck Ken |

Hi Dave,
Eagles are spot plus a premium because of the demand. I believe I can get you some if you still need them. |

Those Eagles and Buffalos (1 Oz.) are not available anymore - sorry - I am not sure why but the Mint has stopped producing 1 oz.'s for the last quarter of this year. Gold prices too volatile? Expect to pay spot plus premium $100+. Just crazy out there.
Expect a run on toilet paper because Wall Street is so full of !^ |

Do you suppose the Mint stopped producing Eagles and Buffalos because they were afraid of the exapnsion of what this business man did?
http://www.liberty-watch.com/volume03/issue08/coverstory.php Read the article about him paying his employees in gold coin. I am sure that the IRS did not like it. Do you suppose the supply of these US gold coins stopped so that no one else could emulate this? It is a thought. Ken |

I realize this is an old thread and your friend may already found a solution. But specifically in Oregon there is a guy in Portland, Affordable Jewelry and Precious Metals who sells bullion.
But, he may not have any either. Myself? As soon gold prices go down a bit more (I expect them to), I will buy into the gold pool at Kitco. Your friend could do the same and have hard metal delivered as it becomes available. The shortages appear to be strictly a coin production issue rather then a shortage in the metal itself. |

I do have the correct answer!!! 130,000 or so were minted the first time around, they are all sold out. The good news is that another mint is supposed??? to take place with the new year. These coins will be collecters because they might not mint gold coins again after this for a long time so you better get your hands on them as soon as they roll off the mint. Hope I helped that will be 1 Gold Eagle Coin please.

Hey there Dave, just a quick response to this thread about gold eagles. A place in Redding called Goldmart has a least 10 probably more they were minted from West Point Mint he doesn't care about the dates although he is selling them for $90.00 over and they are in mint condish. Have a good one I'll see you next summer I live in Mt. Shasta now.
