Thanks Dave for posting this. I will be calling my rep, Joan Buchanan today and giving her (or aid) an ear full!!!!!!!! I already called her but the phone tree stated that no one is available.

GOOD ARTICLE DAVE: GLAD YOU BROUGHT THIS TO MY ATTENTION.

So, let us add this up---The Yoruk are allowed to catch 50% of the salmon at the mouth of the river (ocean), and then the CDFG places these wiers to count the rest. Thus the final exhausted breeding salmon are forced to run the CDFG gauntlet and die in the process---never reaching their ancestral spawning home grounds.

Results: At best maybe 5% get to spawn successfully. YEP--the governments and the indians are the killers of the salmon species overall.

Seems to me that the Federals and California DFG need to place a 10 year cease and desist order in effect for all salmon catching----then manually count the spawing runs each year. Bet the fish species would recover 100%.
