Irresponsible owners- Bonnie being mauled
Bonnie was out tonight with Joe when a staffie got its head through a hole in a fence and attached itself to her face, she is`nt badly hurt but when Joe complained to the owners they denied thier dogs was out untill they seen the blood dripping from Bonnie`s face, & dog was trying to get to Joe, Joe was furious and reported the incident to the police, this dog does`nt seem to get out much except for the back garden, it is an elderly couple who have it, i don`t believe there is such a thing as a bad dog just bad owners but it is a worry the owners do not seem to be able to control thier dog. it has already chewed through the fence before this is the second time but in all honesty we can`t blame the dog, yvonne

Sorry to hear Bonnie has been hurt, hope it's not serious.
Joe did the right thing, build up the number of incident reports involving this Staffie. Works out for the better in the long run.

Aw bless, I hope poor Bonnie is recovering well and doesn't suffer any after effects from the attack.

These owners need to be taught how to care for their dogs and not be so irresponsible!

Is there not a dog warden in your area you can complain to ?

It isnt really an excuse to be elderly and not in control of the dog. Too many like that round where my mum lives. Young lively dogs too big and not enough exercise. I can understand it gives older folk a sense of "protection" but its not fair on the dog nor on those on the receiving end of the dog being over zealous in its mistaken guarding activities or frustration or perhaps both.

Glad your little girl is okay.

No dog warden here am afraid s oit had to be the Police, they were going to talk to the owners we did`nt want to make a formal complaint I would be devastated if anything happened to the dog because we made a formal complaint, hopefully they will secure thier fence again and watch the dog when he is in the back garden, of course it would be better if they tried to socialize him or did some training but I don`t think that will happen. They may not be so lucky the next time.

Hope Bonnie is ok, it would have been a different matter if it had been a child walking by at the time :smash6: irresponsible dog owners make my blood boil.

We have a woman up here with a collie that has a reputation for attacking anything in sight. Despite numerous police warnings to keep it under control she still has it out off the lead. She just screams abuse at people if their dogs go near hers (and she counsels people for a living!!!!). Worries me that it might be a kid with a dog and gets between the dogs. Hope Bonnie makes a good recovery and isnt too traumatised.

Bonnie has always had problems coping with other animals so this has ruined the very little progress we had made trying to reaaure her not all dogs wanted to attack her,to be honest if Joe had let her go after the dog bit her Bonnie would have done serious damage to the dog, thank god Joe keep his temper in check and is`nt afraid to get in the middle of a dog fight to seperate them, most people would`nt far too risky.
Bonnie did get a wee infection but we have treated it, we always have Fusiderm to treat cuts & scrapes, she is healing nicely, not so sure she will forget the incident though.
No doubt we will hear what has happened to the dog because where it lives is very close to a forest walk a lot of dog owners use,

Honestly! they are just knackered after being out, heehee, they go out 5/6 times a day so they usually just lie about around the house or in the back .
