We're new to the fourm we got out white boxer Hope just over a week ago she is 12 weeks the breeder had her on a mixed diet of puppy food and adult food it was recomended to me to put her on James well beloved puppy food i tryed her on it and she has had constant runs and bad wind so we tryed a differant flavour and still the same i have now taken her off this and just given her rice and this seems to have made things a bit more firm but still quite soft we were just wondering if anyone had any advice on which food would be better for her thanks |

The most important thing to remember with puppies is the rate at which you change their food. If you changed over straight away, you will upset their tummies. Go back to the original food she was on that she is used to and then introduce the food slowly. 1/4 for a week, 1/2, 3/4 and then fully on after about 4 weeks. James Wellbeloved is a good quality food, both my girls are on it. With boxers, you can start them on adult food by about 6 months. Again, introduce it slowly to get their tummies used to it. Good luck! Karen |

we had been using the regular dog chow by purina, it is crap! but everytime i changed lillys diet shed get the runs like splatter on the walls kind so id left her on the dog chow....it took forever it seemed to switch her over, we did mix it how karen said....1/4 the first week along with her regular food, like we do the kids when introducing regular milk ![]() |

It's a lot more expensive, but worth it. |
