Just thougth I would introduce myself. I am Michele and I live in Michigan. I am the proud new mom to a beautful white boxer baby ( girl 9 weeks) that my kids named Haley. She joins my 8 yr old german shepherd and a couple much loved cats . I have pics but not sure how to post them. She is healthy and no hearing issues and very smart. Cathcing on to housebreaking nicely. Also great with my kids and other dog. She has trained my 12 yr old to rock her on the chair when she wants to sleep. I have visions of a full gorwn boxer laying on my 12 yr old waiting to be rocked to sleep . She is learning to sit and even working on giving paw. She is on the thin side ( very thin) she had roundworms which our vet gave her meds for and suggested I change her dog food to Iams. I have been switiching her over gradual but she was better on the pedigree as she had loose stool today. I am going back to mostly pedigree mixed with just a little iams. Any thoughts on how to put some weight on her? she goes to the vet again in another week. she wieghed 7.9 pounds at about 8 1/2 weeks. She is very playful and eats and drinks fine just thin. looking forward to being part of this boxer community!! Michele |

A local weight gain trick is to feed 2oz of diced boiled tripe half way between there regular meals. |

![]() ![]() Boxers are fairly scrawny when they are young, Tizzy is very little compared to Sasha. I would be careful about over feeding her at such a young age to be honest as you could end up with stomach problems later on. I would keep trying her on the IAMS or something similar and perhaps give her some scrambled egg with her meals? Once she has gotten over the roundworm, she will start to put weight on naturally, which is the best way! When Tizzy was around 4 months, she stopped gaining weight so we supplemented her food with a high energy mix of the same food she was getting (one for weaning bitches). The trouble was she was so energetic, that she was burning more off than she was getting. ![]() ![]() |

![]() Poppy is 6 months old and she is very gangly looking. I'm sure Haley will get over the roundworm soon and will start to put on more weight, she does sound very clever. The thought of a full grown boxer waiting to be rocked to sleep made me laugh! Bless her. |
