Katie's had her operation.

Hi Everyone

Our baby girl went in today and had her dew claw removed. The breeder had had them done but one of them had regrown. I wouldnt have bothered with it except it was all deformed and the nail was twisted inwards and growing into her foot so vet said the best thing to do was to remove it.

Her right eye was the worst for tear stains so they had a look at that whilst she was in. Turns out that the tear ducts were blocked completely! They had a bit of bother getting the lower one unblocked as it was narrower than it should be. They then got their Orthalmic vet in to check all was well.

So our baby comes home tomorrow hopefully with eye drops to be inserted four times a day, antibiotics and painkillers.

Cant wait to get her home, so sad without her. She is a little lady with a bigger than bigger personality

Poor Katie,

They are all certainly going through it at the moment - they say things happen in threes but that is four ops between our babies in a week!!!!

I bet you are really missing her - luckily Henry was only in for the day - but i don't think i could have slept without him being here.

Hope she is not feeling too down when you get her home - she will probably be so pleased to see you and be home that you will wonder what all the fuss is about!!

Give her big kisses and cuddles from us

Caroline, Tia, Kirei and the Henry Monster xxxx

Got Katie home complete with plastic collar which was scaring her a lot. Rosie was petrified of this strange dog banging and clattering about and ran upstairs/wouldnt come down. Ened up removing it. Peace reigns. Shes a very good little girl. The nurses were raving about her. Said she was the nicest puppy they have ever had in. Said she was so nice, kind and easy to work with. She does have a lovely nature. I'll sit up with her tonight and see how it goes.

Aw bless her. Glad you have got her home finally and the op went well!

Sasha absolutely hated her collar and I was more worried that she would get depressed when wearing it, so I took it off. I am sure Katie will be a little angel and leave her eye alone.

Is her leg sore or is she ok?

Big hugs & lots of boxer love from Sasha

Good news Helen, glad everything went well - I know what you mean about the collars Molly and Tash would have none of it when they were speyed but in fairness they did not srach their stitches at all.

I'm sure she will be fine now and hopefully you did not have to sit up all night!!

Oh I did - have to sit up with her. She was quite restless, wanted "under" the bed which is a favourite spot for them both. Im tired today but she is worth it. Hard to cope with though as she wants to jump and bound and leap - do all the boxer baby things.
