New Bed

Hi Everyone
Our Rosie has always preferred her sofa bed to anything else. Katie had taken to lying on top of Rosie which sometimes was ok but sometimes not, depending on her mood Rosie would get up and stalk off. With winter coming in decided that the throw down petbed would not be suitable to keep drafts away so invested in a round soft bed for Katie. I buy the biggest as they invaribly grown into them. First couple of nights all went well, woke up of course with Katie on bottom of my bed - oh I gave up months ago of stopping that. She just waits until I am asleep!!!
Third night Rosie got into the new bed and wouldnt budge, well she looked so comfy and content what would you do. Katie refused to use the sofa bed and went to the throw down. Back to square one.
Guess who went back to the petstore today...... Got a really nice dark pink plush velvet look bed with its own super soft cushion [I thought the one I bought last week nice] so I wait now with baited breath to see what happens when they see it - who will chose which!!!!! There is such a wide and varied choice nowdays for dog beds.
I do have a prefernce for the soft round/oval beds as they can stretch out if they want and the material goes with them. Plus easily shifted when hoovering!!

Re: New Bed

Have you seen the ones pets at home have that are just like mini couches? I was thinking about getting one of them next time.

Re: New Bed

Hope they enjoy their new beds Helen! Sasha has a huge plastic one now rather than a soft one. She had a soft one orginally but I found the bed tipped up many a time with her lying on an edge rather than in the bed - she cant tip herself over in a plastic one! She does have the bottom of the soft bed in hers as well as a huge thick duvet, pillow and fleece blanket though!

Not that our babies are spoilt in anyway!!

Hope they enjoy their new beds Helen and Katie learns to enjoy hers more than she does yours!!

Re: New Bed

They both like it, Rosie lay in most of the evening in it which I thought good as it would have her scent. However Katie decided it had to be dug up good and proper and made into a nest - round and round she went until I felt dizzy! OK they do go round and round sometimes but not like her. In the end I told her very firmly to sit down. The sofa bed is on its side and think it will go back downstairs into the living room, have to wash its cover though.

Yes Jacqui I did see Petsathome sofa beds. They are nice, more practible than this one I have here. Its ok as you wash the cover but getting it back on again is a nightmare. Although this one is a large size, the ones in Petsathome look slightly bigger or maybe its just my immagination!!

Oh, I just had the new bed down five mins before one of them had "christened" it with Boxer slobber.................!!!!

Re: New Bed

What are you lot like?

Chuck em out in the cold and let em sniff about for scraps is what I say - not, although that would appear to be what some people do.

Our 2 have two huge big soft beds, one in the living room and one on the landing for during the nights. Don't know if a doggie sofa bed would fit in our house aymore with all the clutter associated with having to kids around the house.

Maybe we could sell the kids on e-bay, do you reckon I would get a good price?? Poor Cariad is full of a cold at the moment and having difficulty breathing, sleeping and keeping food down - Lynnes taken her to the doc's this morning and we have panacliyn for her so hopefully she will recover soon!! I may have to reduce her price down to 50p whilst I reckon I would get a quid for Mair.

Re: New Bed

Poor Cariad - does she have a chest infection or something? Hope the penicillin works, there is nothing worse than a wee one like that being so poorly!

As for selling the girls on Ebay  Mind you, you may need the money you raise from them to pay for the reconstructive surgery after Lynne has finished with you for saying such horrid things about your wee angels!!

Personally I think you are better of renting out children than selling them, at least you get a regular income then and, if you dont feed them much, you should make a profit!

Ooh how unkind. I know you love em really Paul!! Too many colds and flus about this time of year. Have you any updated pics of Mair and Cariad ? I can imagine what its like with dog toys and children toys. Do the dogs ever try and take the children's toys?

Re: New Bed

Ah yes Tasha has a penchant for dolls and other assortd toys, she rips them apart and then hides when she realises what she has done!!

Cariad had a better night last night, the medicine must be working. I have some pics which I will try and post but I still have not put the camera software on this PC - how rubbish am I.

I wouldn't worry about te surgery Karen, Lynnes to short to reach my face plus it would invlove exerting herself which I can't see happening.

Re: New Bed

Glad to hear Cariad is a bit better. Hope the rest of you dont take it as well. Joys of parenthood. Poor Tasha. Shame some of them rip their toys up [any others]. My brother has a Staffy x and no toy lasts longer than 30 seconds with Rico. Anytime he comes to visit he rips one of the girls toys to bits too. He also raids any rubbish bins and if there is a box of tissues about, watch out............!

Re: New Bed

Ahhh tissues!! Have learnt never to leave them lying around over the years!

Luckily Sasha pays no heed to any of my kids' toys, but my Dad's dog ALWAYS goes straight for Natalie's favourite life long teddy! Suppose it just smells so much of her.

Glad to hear the girls are getting better Paul and look forward to seeing some newer photos of Cariad - havent seen her since she was a new born!
