Anything that flies...........

Katies newest fad is to chase anything with wings - flies wasps bees. She had a bee trapped in the grass last week. I can see this newest hobby as a disaster waiting to happen - it will be a long summer...............

HE he he

Sasha does that - I have many a slobber mark on my patio doors where she has chased a fly to the window only to find it is closed and she can't go through it!!

She sits there and follows them up and down the door - slobbering as she goes!

Lets hope Katie never manages to catch anything!!

Their all bonkers Molly hates flys and goes mad if one is in the room!! Tash chases bees and wasps, sometimes she gets stung but so far she has had no adverse reactions although she has had some nasty lumps where she was bitten.

You would think they would learn - then again maybe not!!!!!

Good luck this summer Helen I don't envy you chasing around a young boxer trying to discourage her chasing stinging insects!!

Take care and good luck, Paul

If it flys Bella will chase it ( let me correct that, if it moves Bella will chase it).
Got some tablets from the vet just incase she catches a wasp or bee. He said that being stung in the mouth can cause a bad reaction, rather be safe thn sorry where my baby`s concerned

You are right Bella's mum. have noticed this year quite a few bumble bees in the grass = dont know why they are coming down so low. Vinegar on a sting can help reduce soreness etc with a wasp sting. Not sure about bees. They sure are sore things though, I sat on one when I was at school many years ago and can confirm it is soreeeee.....

It's worth keeping some anti-histamines in stock for reactions o stings, I have Benadryl as they were recommended somewhere as being safe for dogs - Polo had them last year when he was covered in lumps after an allergic reaction to something :smash6:

Agree Linda - Piriton is good too. Rosie gets them every day for her allergies. Only time she does not get allergies is the winter

Speaking of such I seem to be reacting to the garden big time this year - too bad, I shall just have to get on with it!

Re: Anything that flies...........

Vinegar for wasps - bicarbonate for bees!

Sasha got a huge fright on the beach the other day (I wasn't there to witness it though unfortunately!!)

Apparently there was a seal lying on the beach. My Dad thought it was dead so Sasha went up and barked at it and the seal barked back!! Apparently she was off down the beach like a shot!!!

She hasnt caught a wasp or bee yet, although she has eaten the odd spider! I do have piriton ready though, my last girl had to have huge doses of it when she landed in a nettle bed!
