Heres that touching poem

WHY DO YOU SAY I AM DIFFERENT?
Why do you say I am different?

Before I could see mum washed us all, her warm rough tongue so comforting as we snuggled closer to each other in the nest. If we were different it meant nothing to her, she loved us all the same. As time went on and we could see and hear, we moved around and games got rough. Gentle hands lifted us up, wrapped warm blankets around us away from the nest and taught us how nice it was to be handled and loved by someone other than mum.
Why do you say I am different?

There was never any question of being different, how could I be, I had a cute little nose, two perfect ears, four scrabbling feet, a wet pink tongue. I played and scrabbled with my brothers and sisters, a stubby tail like all the rest.
Why do you say I am different?

All of us were chosen for new homes by owners who wanted us and only us. There is another dog in my home – she is like a mum to me and I love her so. We play and eat and sleep together and have lots of fun. She does not think that I am “different” and neither do my people. They love me unconditionally and think I am just perfect.
Why do you say I am different?

When we go out for walks together some people look and stare. They know that my sister is a certain “breed” but ask – “what breed is this”. It is sad to say that often my brothers or sisters the same as me are not let live – how awful, how can you take away a life that like me is so perfect just because you say we are “different”.
Why do you say I am different?

I can hear and see and love and feel, I can bark and growl and do puppy things. When I grow up I will guard my house, I will love my people and guard them well, so…..
Why do you say I am different?

I know that I am loved a lot, my people will never let me down, I know not of the awful things that some poor dogs have to endure; my sister that I adore had traumas to endure before she came to mum.
Why do you say I am different?

“You are special little one” says mum as I am cuddled close. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, another dog does not see me as “different” so why do you?
Why do you say I am different?

What is this awful crime I hear some ask, why they call you different, I cannot understand myself how colour makes you different. I see, I breathe, I love and just a pup am I but in the world of dogs I am classed as “different” because I was born a snow white Boxer. What a strange world this is to be classed as second best just because I was born white! Is this really a valid point to make me out as different! How sad it is that there is so few of us about that people don’t appear to know what breed of dog I am.
How CAN you say I am different?

Ah
I see I am getting famous!! Actually I didnt know whether it was a poem or not, some rhymes [cant spell now] and some doesnt.

I was just so annoyed at the way some people on that other site were talking about White Boxers, felt I had to do something about it. I didnt think it made any difference so glad that it has made some.

I put myself in the "paws" of our 4 1/2 month pup who has long since left her early "health" problems behind and is turning into a - er typical Boxer - wrecking like mad! She got hold of a mobile phone hands free attachment and if you didnt know what it had been in the first place, you sure wouldnt know after it!

No way would our Katie ever consider herself different and nor would "Rosie"her sister or subsitute mum.

I think there are a lot of folk out there who could learn a thing or two from the animal kingdom. Look out for more
"lyrics" from little Katie - they will be booting me off that forum!!!!!!
