Our little Henry has gone mad about apples!!!!
It all started a few days ago when one must have fallen out of the fruit bowl and down the side of the cupboard. I kept wondering why he kept going round the side of the cupboard and when i finally looked yesterday i realised there was an apple there, I thought nothing of it and picked it up, washed it and put it back in the fruit bowl. This morning before i went to work i was putting my lunch in a bag and when Henry saw the apple he came running over and started licking the bag. Straight away i realised what it was he wanted so we gave him one to play with, my husband said he played with it for about an hour but then he ate it. When i got home from work he kept jumping up the cupboard where the fruit bowl is. So i gave him another one to play with and again he played with it for a while before eating it. Does anyone know if there is any harm in giving him an apple occasionally - he won't be getting them to often, but the odd one can't hurt can it?????? He keeps sitting there looking at the fruit bowl!!!!!! I think he is into healthy eating as he has also got Tia and Kirei eating grapes!!!!! Caroline

I can relate to this story!! When we first got Sasha we noticed that we were going through more apples than usual - the fruit bowl seemed continually empty.
One day we had put SIX apples in the bowl only to find they had all completely disappeared during the night!!! She had eaten all six, stalks, stickers pips - the lot! The "poop scoop" was an interesting experience I can tell you! Sasha always has the apple cores when we are finished with them and I know we always used to give them to my last boxer too. Sasha can hear an apple being bitten into from a different street!! Let him enjoy them I say!! Karen ![]() |

Daz loves all types of fruit. Well Daz loves all types of food, except raw mushrooms and tomatos. Everything else is fair game.
We meet so many people with Boxers that have so much trouble putting weight onto their babies, I think Daz has been born with all their eating genes. |

And bananas - Tash loves um, careful though it can make them a bit "loose" but my vet said any roughage is good in moderation and helps digestion. I suppose they are a bit like us too much and you end up with an upset stomach and to little and you become run down.
Take care Paul |
