malting

Hi everyone i was just wondering if it was normal for buxton to malt alot, it falls of all the time i only have to stroke him and it comes of loads. I brush him everyday with a short haired come but sometimes i think this makes it worse. The vet said it was shedding ready for his winter coat this was in november. I was wondering whether it had anythink to do with his diet or whether its just normal. I feed him Dr Johns its low in protein.

My Daz sheds a lot all year round, there is no hiding it being white, I brush him at least twice a week. I wonder where he gets it all from. We use a glove type brush with short bristles, it often clogs.

Sasha sheds a fair bit too - I brush her regularly and the brush is always full.

Thank goodness boxers are short haired! :toungebounce:

Tash sheds hair at a rate of knots, so much so I am surprised she is not bald!!

Molly does not loose as much but then again Tash has a thicker coat and is white so just my luck that se looses more hair. I still love her to bits though.

Katie is the same. Vet advised us to best way to keep it under control is to bath them. Dont mean every week. I need to bath Katie about once every six weeks or maybe 4 weeks as she is a mucky pup and gets dirty being white but yes it does help bathing them - for a while!!

I agree, i dont know why they are hairless dogs with the amount they shed. I damp rubber washing up glove rubbed in the way of the hair brings alot of it out.
