Yesterday evening Brendan and I went to the vets to collect Tia's ashes. Before we left we both said we were not going to cry and that we were happy that she was coming home.
When we collected them they were in a beautiful box with her name on and also placed in a bag similiar to a gift bag with the initials of the crematoriam on it. There was also a packet of forget me not seeds. (As if we would ever forget her) We are going to plant the seeds in our garden along with the rose bushes we have already planted for her. We both just about managed to stop ourselves from crying (with plenty of lip biting). I have ordered a beautiful wooden mahogany box which will have a plaque with her name engraved on it to keep her ashes in as we have decided now that we are going to keep them so that they can all go together in the future. It was quite a sad moment but also happy in the fact that she is home where she belongs again.

Aw Caroline how sad but how comforting at the same time - if you see what I mean. Sounds like your vet is as considerate and sensitive as ours is when it comes to that kind of thing, if not better.
We still have Katie on the mantlepiece and, funnily enough, since we have Sasha she has moved back downstairs from our bedroom! She is in a beautiful stoneware Scottish design vase and I love it. Sounds like you are all coming to some kind of peace and that you will have some fantastic memories and some wonderful things to remember her by. |

That is what I said too when we lost Jodie.
I still have the three of them on my display cabinet each on their own shelf with their collar and photo. Every year as their anniversay draws near of when we lost them I buy a red candle. On the date of when they left us, I light a red candle in their memory. It really does help. Helen |

I'm in tears reading this. It's so sad but comforting as well. I hope your pain eases and you can look back at all the love she gave you both. Take care.

Wishing you all the best at this sad time. I'm sure the love that Tia brought to and shared with the family will now flourish and grow much stronger in the now family.
