White dogs - Tash not likey very much

Went to the park with Mair and the dogs today.

We were their 3.5 hours:ugone2far:

Had a good time and Mair loves being out and about meeting new people and playing on the swings etc. The dogs also love the interaction and fuss they receive.

Anyhow, a family of 3 plus their dog were walking into the park with their Bulldog which was all white and very cute looking. Tash saw it and went mental, as in agressive barking, posturing etc.

This is very unlike Tash as normally she just wants to play and have fun and is very submissive. I have been told that dogs don't like white dogs, especially ones with docked tails, which could explain Tash's unusual behaviour.

Anyone else experinced something similair - she was going that bonkers that when Molly started kicking off, Tash gave her a good telling off :nonono:big mistake, Molly put her well and truly in her place which cleared the swings

My two were both on their leads just in cae you are all thinking .

They both calmed down but just completely out of character.

Other than that a great day out.

Paul

:shocked:That's not like Tash, normally Molly is the one who doesn't like other dogs isn't it?

Do you know what Paul, I am beginning to think that there are just other dogs that some dogs don't like? Sasha used to get a lot of negative attention, but I thought that was because of her colour etc, but now I think she just gave off bad vibes!!

Last week at dog training she wanted to say hello to everyone, except a golden retriever who she seemed to hate on sight!?

It couldn't have been the noises the bulldog was making, which would normally be something that could set them off, but the bulldog does have more of an aggressive stance than a boxer? Perhaps Tash felt threatened - has she seen a bulldog before?

Bless her and telling Molly off too - not a good day for her!!

Glad Mair enjoyed the swings though!

I've heard the 'some dogs don't liked docked whites' too.

Most of the boys troubles have been with two particular breeds as well, Collies (they hate everyone equally who isn't as smart as them...in their eyes) and Labs.

But if the saying is treu how come coloured boxers don't have issues with white boxers but just play? Same breed maybe???

Like the bit about Collies, the brother-in-law has one and it is bonkers and hates any other dogs. She hates Tash and tolerates Molly due to the fact Molly will not put up with her nipping and generally agressive behaviour.

The only thing I can think is that because docked dogs are unable to demonstrate their intentions with their tail, that other dogs presume it is curled under in a show of agression?? Could be wrong but both mine sem to be prone to being misread, well maybe not Molly as she makes it quite clear how she feels.

Bulldogs tend to waddle as well which Tash would be bemused by, as she and Molly both strut and sway their barrell like chests in a show of "look at me, I am better than thou!!!!".

Lets face boxer's rule, they are the best dogs ever - good fun, energetic, dependable, mad, protective, cuddle monsters, clowns, oh and just the best.

The only reason boxers don't go mad at other boxers, they must be in total admiration of the boxer before them thinking "at last another damn fine dog, good jaw line, fine physique, excellent muscle tone, slightly mental, nice neat coat, excellent walk and posture - generally the best dog I have ever seen.............. well other than myself".

I love my dogs I do

Paul

now where did I leave my happy pills.................. yeah right like I need them today.

Collies are the only breed Polo has problems with, they just don't seem to like him at all, and he can't understand why they think it's beneath them to play with him :smash6: He's very wary of my brother's collie as it once bit him, he was ony quite young at the time & he's never forgotten :nonono:

what you need is a Molly, it's the all new dog deterant, guaranteed to keep away those unwanted aggressive dogs and nippy collies

I train with two different people. Both reckon that Labs are overbred because of their popularity and that has led to some agressive traits creeping in.
Makes me think what would happen if a boxer won Crufts? after all, the tv ads with boxers seems to have had an impact. And boxers are a breed that you need to understand.
