Hope's Story of Abandonment

Hi Guys,

I am hoping you will take 5 mins to read Hope's story on our website

Hope's Story

We found out about her on 9th December and took her into our care first thing Thurs morning (10th). She had been wandering the streets of Wishaw since Monday at least. She was in such a poor state that she was taken straight to the vet. I cannot even begin to describe just how bad she looked, it broke our hearts. She weighed a mere 19kgs and had an open sore on her side, she was also bleeding and we don't know if this was pyrometria or a urine infection.

We had a foster all lined up for her, to give her the peace she needed to begin her recovery but, sadly, she didn't last that long and we had to let her go to the bridge on Friday morning.

Lorraine and I were devastated. Once this poor girl had been a happy puppy that someone loved, but as time went on and she got older and sicker, they turned her out into the streets. She had also had several litters in her time.

We named her Hope, thinking that was what we were giving her, but we were too late even for that. We don't want Hope's life to be in vain and would like to be able trace her owners and bring some justice for Hope. Please tell her story to everyone you know.

As we go into Christmas and more and more people phone us up to give up their dogs, we find ourselves increasingly disappointed in people and their attitudes to their dogs.

Please give your boxer babe a hug tonight and think of all those who aren't as lucky as yours

:thanks:

Having an older girl myself I find this disgusting, deplorable and unforgiveable.

Lock them up, throw away the key and leave them to die a slow death in the cold with no food.

Helen - I completely agree with you. how peopel can take any dog into their homes and lives then treat them like that is simple disgusting.
If it wan't for people like Karen and Lorraine these poor dogs would continue to suffer.

So terribly sad.I do wonder why some people even get dogs,if they are going to neglect and abandon them.Prayers for Hope.
My furkids are just that,my kids.
I so wish ALL dogs could have a happy and safe and loving home.

Re: Hope's Story of Abandonment

Absolutely sickening......and to make matters worse someone out there knows who had that poor girl, and kept their mouths shut..thats just as bad.

Everyday im opening the paper and reading some horrendous, heartbreaking story of another poor animal being abused and neglected from badgers getting baited to hamster getting fed alcohol and then mutilated.

Its about time the law cracked down on them and gave the sentence they deserve......personally if it was up to me they wouldnt get back out.... and whats all this banned from keeping animals for 3 years rubbish (that wasnt the word i wanted to use by the way).....sorry im ranting now :vangry: they should be banned for life regardless of how severe the case is .........sickos
