Boxer chatter thread ....

I have seen this work on a lot of other forums. Basically, if you just have something quick to say, you say it rather than starting a new thread? People just come on and say random things ......

Thought we could give it a go?

Sasha and Tizzy really don't like getting their paws cold in this weather, although Tizzy loves going out in it! She wants to go out and run round the garden, but she wants the back door left open while she does it? I really don't think so!!

Tizzy came in from her walk around the block this morning and you would have thought that her and Sasha had been apart for a week, not an hour! I love how they are so happy to see each other!

Everyone is away this weekend so I am home alone and I hate it! We are a chattery family of five (well 4 now) and this single stuff doesn't sit well with me at all! The girlies aren't normally allowed upstairs, but they are sleeping with me this weekend!

Thought were were going to have to have an emergency vet visit on Sunday night with Tizzy. She had cut her gum on a smoked bone and boy did it bleed! The vet said there was nothing they could do and just to keep an eye on her gums to make sure they didn't go pale. 3 hours she was bleeding for! Their bed looked like a ...blood bath in the morning, but she had stopped bleeding and the gum was fine. Boxers eh!!

One trick to stop bleeding is to pack the area with baking flour. It dries the blood helping it to congeal, and it's perfectly safe for eating. Tricky in the mouth though, works well on paws.

Yes, I had heard cornflour Jill, but as you say, it was pretty impossible as it was on the edge of her gum.

All sorted now though, thank goodness! Mind you, she must have swallowed a lot of blood as her poo was black later on the next day!

Re: Boxer chatter thread ....

Poor wee lass!

Katie has decided she doesnt like her renal diet, guessed that would happen & was starting to stand beside Harvey as he guzzled away, looking pathetic

Decided it was better to add wee bit of something nice to it so long as the main feed was the renal diet. So far so good

We are now 22 days off antibiotics. This is a first for nearly 2 years. I dont understand why the other vets didnt put her on a renal diet instead of just treating her symptoms! Oh well...
Fingers crossed everyone...

Its a very cold white world outside. Everywhere thick with white ice. I had to go to Ards yesterday to collect kitten food i had had ordered from before Christmas & on way home the car was "sliding" on ice on the road & the car has really good tyres on it. I dont think i will go out today if i can avoid it. Take the dogs up over the fields later.

Lunch will be a pasta dish methinks & have stuffed pork chops for dinner later - tasty

These kittens are a terrible worry to Harvey who has appointed himself their unofficial Boxer Nanny. As for the litter box (covered type) if he peeps in to see what theyre doing, out shoots a furry paw to tell him not to be so nosey - Harvey thinks they are such naughty "puppies"!!!

Good luck with Katie and the diet.
Bless Harvey with the kittens.
Vets are not infallible, if you have doubts get a second opinion for peace of mind alone.
Only metal studded tyres will help with ice. Over the 6 weeks of snow we had here, we only used the OH's all wheel drive car, that did make the difference.

Re: Boxer chatter thread ....

Top tip, if you throw water over your boxer to cool them off, make sure you have closed all the doors to the house so they can't come in and shake all over your living room! :waa:

Sasha certainly got her revenge!

It also keep them cool if you put the water underneath on the belly and down the insides of the legs :cheering::cheering:
