Hi all
Don't quite know where to start... basically cutting a very long story short I am out of work. The problem is mine is the main wage and obviously we are trying to sort out bills. The reason I am putting it on here is I don't know what to do about GIxer's tablets - theyre not covered on insurance anymore and cost us approx £100 per month. Does anyone reckon I should talk to the vet to see if they can help or suggest anythins does anyone know of any places that might be able to help us.

Would you be eligible for the PDSA? I don't know what benefits you need to be claiming to be eligible, but worth looking into.
Another alternative that our vet was telling us about was The Blue Cross - Apparently they are not means tested, they look at each case on an individual basis. I am sure he said you need to contact them and then basically they do a telephone interview asking about the animals condition and your situation. The only problem being that they have limited resources and it depends if they have someone available to take on your specific case. But unless you ask them, you will never know. We were amazed when we started looking at some of our own belongings, that we were able to cover most of our costs through selling things we no longer needed. We sold all our gold jewellery ( we both prefer silver now anyway and we got £1100 for it all - The price for scrap gold has since gone up even further, so now really is a good time to sell. To give you some idea, we got around £8.50 per gram for ours! We also did a couple of car boot sales which bought in £500, we just had a massive clearout of our loft and shed and if we didn't need it or didn't use it, we sold it. Any individual items that were a little more valuable we put on ebay and made around £1300 through those. It really does add up, and people buy things that is complete junk to yourselves. I am even enjoying the fact that my house is clutter free now. Have a look at all the options - we really had no idea how we would manage at one point and have since made around £4000 through doing things like this. I hope you manage to find some more work soon ![]()

Thanks Caroline - we have got to do a clear out and obviously I have time now!! I was going to talk to our vet and apparently our local RSPCA can help people on low income so I will enquire there.

Oh no, what a worry for you! Not much help, but if you get the prescription from your vet, will you be able to buy them online cheaper.
As Caroline says, if you are in receipt of some benefits, you can get support from PDSA. Good luck xx |
