Thunder storms

Sunday, Monday and Wednesday night we had some cracking thunder storms which usually would not bother either Molly or Tash. Recently though Molly has gone all soft on us and scratches the bedroom door if it is during the night to come and have a cuddle - bless her she physically shakes when their is a real loud burst of thunder.

This is the first time Molly has even been bothered by it at all - has anyone else got or had a dog that did not bother but now is afraid of thunder??

Obviously Tash could not care less about any loud noises as she is as deaf as a post - I imagine it has reall benefits when Mair or Cariad are playing up!! Bonfire night is funny as she watches the fireworks exploding in the sky with a look of "whats that all about then".

Anybody any tips on settling Molly during a thunder storm?

Paul

ps Cariad has put 3lbs on in 7 weeks - she also looks twice the size she was when born, babies grow far too quickly!!

Re: Thunder storms

Rocky is terrified of thunder which was kicked off by fireworks, i don`t think Rock will ever get used to it, I could cry for him because he looks so scared, the photo on my avator shows Rock & Joe not long after thunder & lightening, Bonnie & Clyde don`t bat an eyelid
babies do grow extremely fast Paul it is amazing how quick timw goes by, mair & cariad will be independent in no time, I love your girls names Paul yvonne

Re: Thunder storms

Aww bless poor Molly. Can't help I am afraid Paul, we live on the coast so we dont really get many thunderstorms, and if we do, they aren't that bad.

I just think lots of TLC and biscuits are probably the way forward, she will soon learn that there is nothing to fear?

Re: Thunder storms

Hi Paul
Glad to hear Cariad is coming on so well:jump: What does Mair think of her little sister?

I second what everyone else has said, just hold them close. Rosie was petrified of thunder and fireworks until she was about 4, then she began to show an interest in fireworks and I would sit with her outside and let her see them go off. Thankfully the dratted things are banned over here again - Yipee!

We are now in the "marching" season here at the moment and there is not much louder than the Lambeg drums. Rosie would still bark when she hears them. Katie ran around looking worried on Friday when a band went through the village on Friday night. She wasn't scared though. Not like my brother's little staffie X. He was petrified apparently and shook from head to foot/wet himself.
