Poppys morning at the vets

My Dad was coming over to finish off my decorating so I'd picked up two small bags of wallpaper paste at the shop and put them on the kitchen worktop. When I came home from dropping the kids off at school I let Poppy out of her crate and made myself a cup of tea. A few minutes later I heard rustling coming from under the stairs (where Poppys crate is) so went to see what she had. There she was with a bag of paste wripped open licking it up. My first thought was "Oh no I need that" but then I remembered reading the back of the pack and it said "Warning contains fungicide keep away from children and animals" so I phoned the vet and was told to feed her and get her there within the hour. I had to leave her there while they made her sick and then monitored her for a while :crying: but I got a phone call 2 hours later to say we could collect her. Her eyes were bloodshot and they did say she was very sick but they were happy they had gotten a lot of paste up.

When my husband spoke to the vet he said she had told him as soon as the receptionist told her there was a dog coming in that had eaten wallpaper paste she just knew it was a boxer. She said they are like babies and everything within reach goes into their mouths and last Xmas she had one in who nearly died after eating 5 selection boxes

Anyway Poppy is back to her normal self now, I think they had sedated her too :dunno: and needless to say I will be a lot more careful in future.

What are they like! Bobby ate some packing material out of a box once,it was sort of spongy/foamy stuff and he had eaten half a small box full! I got one of them and put it in a cup of water to see what it would do and it turned to mush so i just fed him as usual and hoped it ould pass through! He is no worse for it anyway.:headbangers:
