Chaos's mum uses a cage at the moment with success, though i think i may need to borrow it as our need is greater than hers! Its huge, the woman who owns it can fit 3 great big golden retrievers in it though i suspect it would be a bit of a squeeze!

I CAN RECOMMEND USING A CAGE AS IT WORKED WONDERS FOR CHAOS WHEN I FIRST GOT HIM. IT HELPED HIM TO SETTLE DOWN WHEN WE WERE IN THE HOUSE BUT ALSO KEPT HIM (AND THE HOUSE) SAFE WHEN WE WERE OUT. CHAOS HAD SEPARATION ANXIETY INITIALLY AND WAS VERY NERVOUS THAT WE WERE GOING TO LEAVE HIM, USING THE CAGE GAVE HIM HIS PLACE WITHIN THE HOUSE WHICH I THINK HELPED HIM TO CHILL. THANKFULLY WE HARDLY NEED TO USE IT NOW, IN FACT IF CHAOS HAS BEEN NAUGHTY HE TAKES HIMSELF IN THERE AS A PUNISHMENT!!!!!!
LIZ, IF YOU WANT THE CAGE LET ME KNOW AND I'LL BRING IT DOWN TO YOU. HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH HESKY'S OP. AMANDA |

We too, had a cage for Daz when he was a pup. For a couple of months he would be shut in when we were out, but he was so good that we never had to do it again. The cage turned into his space where he would go for a bit of peace or a sleep. The cat started using it too, they would squabble for it. Eventually he out grew it, so we got rid of it. Now Daz uses the whole house as his, with no problems at all. We got the cat a smaller box that can fit out of site under the table.

We had a crate for Rosie as when she was a pup she suffered from bad seperation issues. Once she came about 8-9 mnths we stopped using it and she has been great ever since [shes 6years now]. Katie would not tolerate a crate - she screamed like a banshee with the door wide open. Wouldnt even go into the big one that we brought out again for Rosie. Rosie would go into it to get peace from Katie! Thankfully she copied big sister Rosie and has been good when left free. We are very lucky with them.
