Gixer

Hi all
Gixer has ben generally really good lately which is why I've not posted however this week he's been really out of sorts.
He was put on Frusemide 40mg 2x a day as he was not himself and the vet said his chestnoises were louder - he also wasn't jumping n the car etc. His specialist then told us if they are on too high a dose it can actually danmage the heart so we have redicued it to 20mg twicew a day and he seemed to be doing well

Today - and the last few days he has not been homself - very slow and not jumping in and out of the car. I have noticed he has been coughing as bit more too. so Ihink it's bcak to the vets! I try not to worry but I think it's what we should be expecting with his condition - he's 7 now and according to the vets shouldn't be here!

Re: Gixer

He seems OK thanks and the good news is the vet wants me to start reducing his frusemide again. This means we have to monitor his breathing rate daily for a while. I know it doesn't mean he's getting better it just means he is stable. He's definitely slowed alot this year and doesn't have the stamina he used to have but it's to be expected.

Re: Gixer

Do you have to count how many breaths in a minute? I have to do this twice a week for lolli, she is between 16/17 at the moment so thats quite good.

Re: Gixer

Quick update. Gixer is still bouncing at times and his usual naughty self but he gets so tired. He has a walk round the block and then doesn't move for a few hours. He is happy which is the main thing.
