Ben

We have a boy who is between 7 and 8 years old who's owner died a few months ago. He is in desporate need of a "boxer home".
Over the last 3 weeks he has started to get destructive. He's left alone all day and is becoming depressed.
His favourate "trick" is to jump on the fridge to knock it over, then he eats the contents!
We asked what colour he is and were told "boxer colour".
Is there anyone here who could find a place in there heart for him? or do you know anyone who would give Ben the love he is looking for?
If you do please contact one of us.

Re: Ben

Oh poor Ben! How tragic that he should lose his owner like that.

I will keep my ear to the ground, but I dont know of anybody up here sorry!

I really hopes he finds a new boxer home so he can settle down and feel loved again

Re: Ben

Thanks for that, for some reason people arn't keen because of his age. I can understand that in a way, but at the end of the day what does it really matter? He still has a few years in him. With lot's of love to give!

He also emptys the cupboards:wowsmilie: To me that's clever:loveya: Mind you it must be a small fridge!

Maybe not Jacqui, maybe just wobbly!!::spinsmile:

My first girl used to do things like that, open cupboards and clear them out, anything with chocolate was demolished, papers set neatly aside. Yep we thought it clever too, what a sad story.

There will be someone out there. My friend only takes in the older not so attractive dogs that no-one else wants. She currently has 8 of them but they are all small, that is how she can take so many.

Fingers crossed he gets his forever home soon.

Re: Ben

Hi Jacquie

If we didn't have three already I would surely want him.
Although from London it would be a long old drive - but worth it!!!

I do feel sorry for the older ones as like you said people tend to want the younger ones, however the poor dog has lost his owner already and deserves to be in a loving boxer home.

After hearing all the sad stories of the boxers you are rehoming i have told my husband that in the future i am definately going to 'adopt' a boxer.

But for now we certainly don't have any room - there is no room for me and Brendan as it is with our three.

I hope he finds a loving home soon.

Hi Jacquie, if i hadnt had Heskey for such a short time,i would be more than willing. The offer still stands as Carlisle being a half way meeting point if anyone from England would be happy to give him a home.

Re: Ben

Thanks for that Liz.

I'm glad to say we did infact get a home for him at the 11th hour!!! One of the people who got a dog at the begining of the year is going to take him. They will meet him on Sunday and take it from there. Will keep you posted as to how he gets on. I'm sure he will be fine though.

Re: Ben

That is super news. He has been in my thoughts.

Heard last week of a 9 month old being put into rescue because she had "grown too big for the flat she lived in".

Makes your heart bleed doesnt it.

Re: Ben

Doesn't surprise me! some people are really stupid and heartless.
We had a (person) on the phone with a 10 and 11 year old dogs. She was moving the following day and could we take them? She had had them from pups AAAGGGGHHH

Sorry to say that Ben is stil looking for a home. The person that went to meet him said that her dog and him didn't get on. In a park, for about 15 mins????

Re: Ben

Saved by the bell!!!!! Telephone that is!
A lady phoned Lorraine yesterday interested in an older dog, We had been told that Ben was going to the vet today to be put down. We did have a foster home on stand by.
Anyway this lady said that she would love to take Ben. As there was a real urgency, she was put directly on to the man that had Ben. We didn't have time to do a home check or vet report.
As far as I'm aware it all worked out. When I get more news I'll let you all know.

Great news, it's awful how some animals are treated for things that they have no control over or even understanding.
Well done Boxer Welfare. Hope it works out for Ben.
