Bad Wind!!!

I wondered if anyone could help with Sasha's latest embarrasing problem!! God knows what she would think if I was sharing this with you all!!

Ever since she was spayed she seems to suffer from really bad wind! When we go out for walks she is constantly going to the toilet (sometimes the stools are loser than normal) as well as this she seems to be using it as a scent thing either that or she thinks she has to squeeze out as much as possible before we get home??!! . We are constantly shoving her into the garden as we think she needs out but she doesnt seem to need to (she doesnt have any problem going in her garden either)

We havent changed her food and she doesnt get any human food that could be causing this. She is on a decent food brand too (Burns) so I cant see how its her diet?

Is this a common side effect in bitches after they are spayed or just in boxers! I dont remember my last boxer being quite so offensive!!!

Help!

Re: Bad Wind!!!

Hi
Ive always had my dogs speyed or neutered and cant say we have ever had bad wind after it. When was she done? Maybe if the op was recent, she is just having a bit of reaction to being away from home and having the op.
If she is going to the loo freqently and stools are loose I would be inclined to see the vet just to make sure all is well. It could be just co-incidence that she is like this after her spey.

Re: Bad Wind!!!

my question would be is she on an antibiotic or not?? That could make her fart and make her stools loose. If it is the antibiotic that's your answer and she will get over it soon.. Good Luck..

Re: Bad Wind!!!

She was spayed 18th September and isnt on any antibiotics at the moment. She is the picture of perfect health apart from the wind!! Her stools are only loose when she is in the later stages of her walk, which is why I just think she is making the most of her chance to go!

I have heard in the past that there are certain kinds of treats you can give a dog to help prevent wind - eg charcoal biscuits etc? I know there are black biscuits amongst her normal lot but I dont know if thats enough?

Does anyone know of any homeopathic stuff that could help ...... please! Before we all leave home!!

Re: Bad Wind!!!

Have an "X" male boxer who seems to spend his whole life either letting off (preferably when we have company) and depositing huge amounts of dog dung. I just thought it was a boxer thing as our last dog (Lab.) certainly didnt have the same effect!! Have tried various foods but havent made the slightest difference. He remains happily indifferent!

Contact Hilton Herbs - www.hiltonherbs.com.
They have outlets in most countries world wide. Their helpline in the UK is - helpline@hiltonherbs.com

I have used them before. I wrote one day and received an answer next day. Very helpful, interested and their service is next to none.

I had spend £hundreds on my girl and they "cured" her problem [skin related] with a pot of ointment for under £10.

I cannot rate them highly enough.

Re: Bad Wind!!!

I think we have found the route cause of her wind and therefore her cure!

She was eating mushrooms that were growing in the garden!! Typical boxer, if it moves - eat it, if it doesnt move - eat it!

Anyway the mushrooms have all gone now, and funnily enough so has her wind!!

Thanks for the advice on Hilton though - I have made a note of their site for future use
