Tash loses hair at a rate of knotts unknown to man kind whereas Molly loses very little!

Has anybody else noticed that their white loses more hair than their coloured?

Tash is so bad sometimes that I have considered shaving her - only joking!! Keeping the house clean and dog hair free is an uphill struggle anybody wishing to volunteer for vacuming duties please let me know all volunteers will of course have access to our Dyson DC07 which is a superb piece of machinery.

I have found that Tash actually does not mind being vacumed with one of the small floor attachments - sounds cruel but bear in mind tash is deaf so as far as she is concerned it's like being brushed. She really enjoys it and leans into the attachment just like when she is being brushed , it is funny to watch and the amount of hair in the cylinder afterwards is amazing I'm suprised she is not bald!!

Molly hates the hoover and attacks it when its switched off and I wheel it around :smash6: - I dont thinlk she is brave enough to go near it when its switched on which is quiet amusing bearing in mind what a physco she is with other dogs:ugone2far:.

Do your dogs let you vacum them? Do they hate the vacum? Any tips on reducing the amount of hair Tash loses?

Paul

Hi Paul

I must admit Sasha was shedding really badly but I have noticed that since I have used the hound glove on her, it is a lot less!

I give her a good going over with it once a week and that really seems to keep the loss down.

Regarding the hoover - you are kidding!! Sasha sees it as a bigger threat than any in bound asteroid! She has let me hoover her once but that was with her being held - needless to say she avoids it at all costs now!!

My Mums lab used to love being hoovered and would stand by patiently waiting for her turn. Her favourite bit was to have her tongue sucked out by the hose!!!

Polo loves our hoover (a Dyson), I think it's the air that blows out of the front which he likes best (he also loves playing with the attachments):smash6: but, yes, he likes to be hoovered too. I find the worst place for dog hair is the back of the car. We have a heavy-duty seat cover, but the floor looks a bit like we've a white carpet

Das loves being hoovered, hound gloved, dried by hair drier or towel when wet. He just loves attention. His skin dad reckons that for the most part "His mum knitted him"

KATIE SNOWFLAKE

It IS more hair. Katie at only six months loses enough to be bald. The back of the car looks like I have been doing haircuts in it!. Lift her onto you lap and you are covered, well maybe not lift her now, shes a bit big!

Ive started each night or every other night to mix some shampoo in warm water and then just with my hands rub it through their coats, not wet the coats, just damp them. They dont mind, seem to enjoy it, then out comes the brush. Rosie does not mind, she suffers it. Katie - wow what fun, I dread her first actual bath and the towel dry!!!!!!! Get a good lot of loose hair that way. My vet always says to bath them in the shedding season as it loosens and takes out a lot of the hair.

Call me a coward but i will wait until its a bit warmer before I bath them. They might be very short coated but seem to take ages to dry even though I towel dry first and Rosie lets me use the drier. Does anyone else notice this?

Re: Malting

Whites for some reason do lose more hair. You should see my house with two of them!!! fur balls blowing down the hall, lumps under the couches............. no it would be like that if I didn't sweep everyday (or got a little slave to do it for pocket money LOL)

My "little slave" is away in Austria snowboarding with school, it's been great while she was saving for her spending money, she was doing all kinds of jobs (she was really good as we'd have given her the money anyway, but I think she enjoyed earning it) When she gets back I'll have to tell her she needs to save for her summer holiday - hopefully she'll have got into the habit and will keep up the good work

Re: Malting

I'm sure Mair my daughter of nearly 2 1/2 would like to be a little house cleaning slave when she is older. She is great at the moment give her a damp cloth and everything gets a wipe down - no doubt as she gats older her enjoyment of cleaning will dissapear and hr bedroom will look like every other teenagers!!!

Glad to see it's not just me that thinks white boxers malt more and that i don't have the only dog that likes being vacumed.
