Hi everyone

I'm new to the community centre which I found through The White Stuff web site which I have been visiting for several years now. I live in South Wales (GB) with my wife, 20 month old daughter and her 2 sisters Molly & Tasha. Molly is a 4 year old light red brindle and Tash is a 3 year old white boxer. Tash is about 90% deaf, I say 90% because she does pick up on certain very low frequencey noises ie: the resonnance from car exhausts or low bass from films / music - but that's it.

Our boxers are the centre of the family and we would not be without them, it's great to know that their are so many like minded people out there and now hopefully I can chat on-line about the high's and low's of boxer ownership (not that I've experienced too many low's but we have had the occasional visit to the vet's).

I will post some pictures once I have copied them off my better half's lap top.

All the best
Paul & Lynne - in the green, green valleys of South Wales - boyo!!! p.s. I'm not welsh but Lynne most certainly is, I'm almost an honurary welsh man though.

Hiya Paul, nice to meet you & welcome to the board :smile:Looking forward to your pics & hearing more about Molly & Tasha - you'll maybe be able to offer some advice to one of our members, Elaine (elaine31uk) who's young puppy Zeus is deaf, you'll see her post a little further down this page.

Re: Hi everyone

Hi Paul and welcome welcome! Looking forward to seeing some photos soon and yes I agree, not many lows owning a boxer, just plenty of fun and laughter!!

I have a 11 month old white boxer called Sasha, and previously had a red bitch called Katie who lived to the ripe old age of 12!

Just dont understand why they bother having any other breeds of dogs when its quite obvious boxers are the only ones to have!!

Re: Hi everyone

Hi Karen & Linda - thanks for the replys, heres the photos of Molly and Tash. I took them this morning - Molly does not look impressed, I get the impression that she does not like staged photo's. Hope you like them and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Take care

Paul

p.s. I will make contact with Elaine today regarding deafness - hopefully we will be able to pass on some useful advice and suggestions.

Re: Hi everyone

Getting photos on is a common problem for me too! I have managed a couple of times. They have to be jpegs to be put on here from what I gather. You can do some practise "shots" in the test centre, but if you are still having probs, if you email Nikki, she will help you out.

Good luck!!

MSN is offering lots of space for your own site, and its free.
You can stick lots of photos onto it and then post a link here using virtually no space at all on this site.

Good Luck!

Re: Hi everyone

Hi Paul
Just noticed you say you have a white Boxer who is nearly deaf?
As our pup to be is only 2 weeks we dont know whether she can hear or not.
Is there anything special we need to know re training wise etc?
We are hoping she is not deaf - fingers crossed.
