Hi my name is caroline. My husband and i own two female boxers. One white and the other Brindle/white. Our white one 'Kirei' just gave birth yesterday to nine beautiful pups- 4 white and 5 dark. She had quite a difficult time as the pups were quite large and four of them were breech but she is absolutely fine now. (Her appetite is anyway!!!!) All the pups are getting really strong and putting on weight. I cant wait until they are all running around and can play in the garden. I want to keep them all but my hubby says no way!!! Its great to be able to talk about them with like minded people. Most people think we are mad when we talk about our 'babies'(thats when we are talking about Tia and Kirei) but thats what they are to us as i am sure yours are to you!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
![]() Sasha was one of 2 whites in a litter of 9 and apparently they spent all their time getting the best place for the best milk, so it'll be interesting to see if your whites are the same! Karen ![]() |

Hi Caroline, Hubby and all the dogs / pups.
It must be liking living in a house of cuteness and mischief :roundnround:- I'm afraid I would be as bad, I would not want any of them too go to other people when they reached 8 weeks+. Boxers are sooooo cute when they are pups!!!! (They are cute when they grow up as well) Is this your first lot of grandpups? Good luck if it is I would imagine that the learning curve is huge, but really worth it. All the best and hope to see some pictures soon. Paul |

The whites are definately the pushiest when it comes to getting the milk, although we think that Kirei being white herself is a bit biased because yesterday i came into the room and she had all the dark ones bundled up near her head and the four whites all laid out in a row feeding!!!!!!!
I was told that the white ones are pushiest by the lady who we got our two from but we will be weighing them every day to make sure they are all putting on weight so they will all get their fair share.

This is our second litter of pups, although it is Kirei's first. Tia our brindle/white one gave birth last november to 9 dark pups which we were suprised about because her mum is white, so we have got a little bit of experience.
Once they get to eight weeks they are hard work when there are so many but you are right they are so cute!! We had one who didn't have a new home as the buyer lost his job and couldn't take her and so pulled out. I got very attached to her and called her Suki, my husband kept asking if i had advertised her again and i kept putting it off. In the end we asked his mum to take her, she already had Kaspa from that litter and now we get to see her all the time. They are 9 and a half months old now and soooo sweet. |

Hi Caroline - your having problems with attaching pics as well, don't worry I'm new to all this as well and have had the same problem. It was suggested by another member that they may need to allocate more space for pictures. If its not a space issue then we are obviously doing something wrong - but what I don't know.
Hope you have more luck soon. Paul |

Hi Caroline - just tried the test centre to see if it would let me attach photos but no joy I'm afraid. We will have to see if anybody has any hints or tips. I have converted pictures to a JPEG but still doesn't want to know.
The joys of digital cameras - at this rate I might scan an old picture and see if that works. If it does I will chuck my nice new digi camera in the bin (only joking). Paul |

Didn't cost a thing just go to photobucket.com and follow the instructions, make sure you click on make available to the public. You can only sign up for a free album between certain times though. Good luck

When it says attachment is too big...its the picture that is too big, not the space is used up. We did have a number that was "up to" for size but I forget what it was

Hi Caroline - toooooooooo cute. Great to see them and I only noticed today - with tails!! I suppose because both of mine were docked as are most you see you take it for granted they all are.
Is personal prefrence the reason for not docking or because so few vets will no longer carry out the procedure? Personally I think if we were to have another boxer I would be quite happy to have an natural one rather than docked. It is strange when you see a natural one though, I always do a double take because they look quite different with a tail. Anyway - hope I haven't offended you if it's not a subject you wish to discuss. Keep the pic's coming their great. Paul |

Hi Paul
You haven't offended me at all. Both of ours have still got their tails, although i must admit when i first decided i wanted a boxer i did expect that it would have its tail docked but when we went to see them they hadn't been done and were so adorable anyway. Before Tia had her litter of puppies we did look into it and phoned about 10 different vets to see what they said and so that we would have the choice when the time came. All of them were very 'off' with us and we got lecture after lecture about how it was illegal and has been for so many years and if we were that bothered about it we would have to find someone else who breeds dogs and does it themselves -but remember it is illegal etc etc... So there were no vets that would even consider doing it around here. If we had found a vet that did it i still don't think we would have got it done - we just wanted the option at the time. As we bred our dogs for pets and not for showing etc it did not matter if they had their tails -the personality is still the same and now that we have had Tia and Kirei with their tails i think i would definately go for that in the future as their tails are so expressive. (Although they can be like whips when they are excited) - We don't have a coffee table anymore because one swipe and whatever was on there is on the floor!!!! When people phoned up about Tia's pups some of them did ask about the tails and when we said they had tails they were not interested although about half of our buyers were looking for boxers with tails and said they had been looking for ages because most people do still dock the tails. So i think it is part personal preference and part that it is so difficult to find a vet to do it. With Kirei especially when we take them for walks down the river at the back of our house and they run through the long grass all you can see at times is the tip of their tails and it is lovely. A lot of people do mention their tails when they see them and we get a mixed response some say how lovely it is and that they were born with their tail so it is right to keep it, others say it is not a proper boxer unless the tail is docked - Like i said before though the personality is still the same and they will always be our babies!!!!! Hi Caroline! Congratz on all the new babies!!! My husband & I are picking up our new baby on tues 9/7 & I can't wait!!! He is one of three whites in a litter of 9. We are home in NJ right now visiting family & friends before my husband deploys to Iraq on the 15th of this month. Bogy (our new baby) will be my only companion for the next 7mths to a year. (we just moved to NC & I haven't had a chance to make new friends). We are all set up for him- crate, bed, food, toys...all we are lacking is Bogy! Good luck with all the babies - & I don't blame you, I'd want to keep them all too!

Hi Caroline
I like the bit in your reply where some people have said that it's not a proper boxer if it's got a tail. Obviously only a highly intelligent and well informed induvidual would come out with such nonsense (do you detect my northern sarcasm ever so slightly)!!! Oh to be so misinformed and utterly blinkered. How do you resist not lecturing them on the fact as you point out that they are born with tails - it's suprising how many people who are not familiar with the breed think they are born with a little stubby tail. Anyway glad I didn't offend you as I appreciate that we all have our own views on docking etc. We saw a boxer with a tail down at the local park whilst at a jazz festival - and yes I still had to look twice just to make sure, he was stood sideways on at first but when he was facing us their was no doubt it was a boxer. Thanks for the reply Paul |
