proud mum to a rescue white boxer.

Hi,
I have just joined your group as we have decided to give a home to a lovely white boxer.
I had a red boxer originally but sadly we lost him to cancer in january, i havent felt ready to get another dog until now. we called into the local rescue centre just for a look round and there in the very last cage was a white boxer.
Hes not the prettiest of dogs, his eyes go off in different directions, he also has ingrowing eyelashes which are painful for him and make his eyes bloodshot(hes having surgery today to correct this), hes small for a boxer and totally deaf!!! i thought he would struggle to find a loving home so we started spending time walking him and getting to know him and hes a delight, hes absolutely crazy(as they all are) but we look forward to years of mischief and mayhem with him.
Hes coming home to us on Sat and the whole family is really excited.
I will post some pics when ive taken some decent ones, im struggling to keep him still long enough.
My name is Tina and hope to use the site for help and advice as well as making some new friends.

Hi Tina
Welcome and how brilliant of you to be taking this litle chap on. We have one red/white girl and two white boxers. M + F. Will be looking forward to lots of pics.

Our Katie is small too - Karen has a lovely description of the smaller Boxers - "Pocket Boxers"

Hi Their

What fantastic news, sounds like your new white friend has found just the right people to give him a second chance.

I too have a deaf white boxer called Tash, she too is a bit mad at times but generally a star most of the time.

If I can be of any help once you get him home please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm sure you will find everyone falling over themselves to help out, but I'm sure with your previous experience of boxers you will do just fine.

Oh and don't forget to post some pictures once you get chance, not that were picture mad on here or anything

Kind regards

Paul

Re: proud mum to a rescue white boxer.

Well,
We picked Seamus up and i just happened to mention to the behaviour guy at the rescue centre that we were planning on getting a hearing boxer bitch to make life easier for everybody including Seamus, and he took us to a part of the kennels for newly admitted dogs that were out of bounds to the public and there was the most beautiful boxer cross i have ever seen, shes a tiny little brindle girly with a jet black face and shes quiet and very loving.
My daughter and i fell in love on the spot and after trying the dogs together for the day we decided to take her as well.
They are so loved up although she loses her patience with the headcase sometimes as he never wants to sleep and as hes deaf he doesnt hear the warning growls and ends up getting his ears nipped!!
Im so pleased we took the two, it makes me so happy to see them charging about in the garden together and she helps to wear him out a bit too, i can imagine him if she wasnt about.(doesnt bear thinking about really!).x tina
