Chill in the air

Dont know about anyone else but there has been a decided "chill" in the air these past couple of nights. The dogs deny all knowledge of it until night time - then its a case of "need my cosy blanket" - tuck them in and all is fine again.

Think it is time to get the duvet out of storage. How can the sun and warm weather just turn off so fast!

Re: Chill in the air

My duck down duvet came out of the loft last week, with Rob going away I knew I would need some warmth!! The heating has been put back on, albeit low and the winter coats have come back out ready, just in case.

Weather forecast told us there was a possible frost last week, so I guess we can say that summer has well and truly gone!!

Still hot here!! We are going to close the pool next weekend though because it will turn cold and probably fast! Still running around in shorts and tank tops though...for now......

Nicki - how cold does it get your way? Did I read somewhere that you are in Canada or is that just my overactive immagination!! My nephew was in Canada a couple years ago for his job. He was there from end Sep until just before Christmas and he said when it was cold it was cold. He even described freezing rain - frozen when it hit the ground. I would spend the whole time flat on my back or face. I just cant balance in the ice!

Re: Chill in the air

Weve just got back from Italy where it was lovely and warm. Arrived back yesterday to rain and a house that doesnt possess central heating! (keep thinking about getting it put in but thats about as far as it goes!). Needless to say we are blooming freezing! Dread winter where we both end up looking like michelin men due to the amount of clothers we need to wear!!! May well have to knit Heskey a jumper as this will probably be his first winter without heat! Can you imagine what he would look like (probably best if you dont)

Re: Chill in the air

You read right, I am in Ontario Canada. Yes it gets very cold. Its funny though because so many people think that we get cold all year!! It usually gets cooler by the end of October. We do have freezing rain and it can be tricky to walk LOL Not so good for driving either. It looks neat though because everything the rain touches it covers it with a smooth cover of ice. It sparkles LOL I will have to see if I can capture a picture this year. It doesn't do it all the time but a couple times in the beginning of winter and a couple towards the end. It gets anywhere from -10C to -35C with a windchill. -10C to -35C would be about 18F to -25F, not sure which you guys use. We don't usually get any snow until December. Spring gets here around end of March. In the summer we get hot. We have such high humidity. This summer we seemed to be around 30C-40C on average with the humidity. 30C-40C equals about 86F-106F. Thank god for central air!!!!
