No More Dead Lawns

Dead lawns could be a thing of a past for us soon!!

Remember I talked about something you could feed our babies to stop the lawn dying when they wee? Well I finally remembered to contact the vet yesterday and find out his opinion on the idea. He had never heard of any kind of product that could be used, so phoned his wholesaler and got back to me.

Apparently the vet's wholesaler has something for this and is sending some out and, if I am ever reunited with my car, I will be collecting it and trialing it next week.

It can be used on boys and girls as they both do the same amount of damage to the lawn.

I will let you know how we get on and what it's called as soon as I pick it up. Wont it be great if it worked - no more spending the whole summer reseeding the lawn!!

You feed it to the dog!

Sorry, I didnt make that clear did I!

I was having a look through that website that Linda put up for the Doggles
and it does have some lawn stuff on there, but I would rather get some that my vet has checked over first.

On a lighter note, how cool are these collars! I really want one for Sasha!!

Karen

Its not the "wee" that is killing my lawn [non existent] but two mad boxers chasing each other up and down and round and round. In places there is no grass just well galloped over earth paths!!!!! Im not garden proud which is just as well. :jump:

Be interesting to see if this stuff works, must be something to counteract the acidity/alkaline in the urine?

Have a concrete yard so its not really a problem, but my mum recons you need to pour water with bicarb over the spot when theyve weed to stop the grass turning brown. As for the collars - very tempting arnt they!! Looked through the rest of their stuff and found a bag to sling over your shoulder to carry your dog in - like to see them try with a boxer!!! Imagine the muscles needed for that!!

He he he - can you imagine a rucksack on your back with that head poking out looking at the world!! Imagine the looks you would get with that!

Picked up the stuff from the vets today. It is the same make that is on the Canine Concepts website, so I will let you know how it works. It seems to be a Yucca by-product?? Weird!

I must admit, I do love my lawn and as I have a fairly small garden, I do jealously guard any green I have!! As much as I love my baby - I wish my lawn looked better!!!

I have heard washing the lawn down as soon as they wee on it, but to be honest, I don't have that much commitment when it's cold or 3am!
