Everyone who owns a little girl will know all about the brown patches on their lawns and all the dead areas that happen where they wee.
I have been hunting high and low for a solution to this problem - one suggestion was that I washed the wee away everytime she went, another is just reseeding the patches regularly. I spent the whole of yesterday filling all the holes in the lawn with topsoil and reseeding - in the vain hope that it will look reasonably decent come the summer! I do love my dog, but I do love my garden too and unfortunately it isn't big enough to give her an "area" to go on while the rest of us have a nice lawn to relax on! But, apparently, there may be a solution to this problem and I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this, or tried it?? Apparently there is a medicine you can get that neutralizes their wee and therefore stops the staining?? My mum said she read about it in a paper or something, and that you can get it from your vets, which means it should be safe? Has anyone heard of it - or does anyone have any top tips on keeping a green lawn? Karen  |

Our lawn is completely dead at the moment - not because they wee on it but because they kill it by running around on it in the winter in all the mud - luckily they have 'chosen' an area as their toilet which is a small patio square at the end of the garden - it makes it so much easier to clean up after them.
But with three big dogs charging through all the mud in the winter we don't have much choice but to fence off areas in the spring and put new seed down. I love grass in the garden - hubby prefers paving etc - i am starting to come round to the idea that if we want three dogs paving is so much more practical. If this medicine you are talking about is available from the vets - then like you said it must be safe and sounds as if it is definately worth giving a go. Sorry i don't have any other tips for a green lawn - i bet yours looks a lot better than ours does at the moment!!!! Caroline, Tia, Kirei and the Henry Monster xxxx

It's not just females who have this effect on grass, ours has plenty of brown patches, and also bare patches from where Polo's run around in the mud all Winter
 Hubby despairs, I just don't think boxers and nice lawns go together to well :roundnround:
