just received this
can you circulate this around especially as xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by royal mail. the trading standards are making people aware of the following scam : a card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (PARCEL DELIVERY SERVICE) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 09066611911 ( a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from BELIZE. if you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. if you do receive a card with these details, then please contact royal mail fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulater ) at www.icstis.org.uk

Also read about this in our local paper this week. Several people in the local area have been caught up in this.
Terrible how some people think it's ok to con people out of their hard earned money

We read about it when we were on Mull last summer. Apparently it was a scam that was operating back in 2005 and that, since then the email has continued to circulate?
Wonder if they have rescurrected the scam then

Sounds as if they have in some areas - like i said it was in our local paper this week. Exactly the same thing - you get charged £15.00 as soon as the call is connected.
I would like to think i would have enough sense to notice something was wrong if i received a card but there must be a lot of people out there that are unaware of the scam and would think it was really a parcel delivery service and go ahead and call the number. Nobody sends me suprise parcels anyway - and any i do receive (which i am expecting) always come from either the post office or well known couriers.
