Pushed the wrong button again!!!!
Just been reading the latest newsletter (and want to rehome them all). I know that BWS gets publicity in Scotland, but wondered about spreading that across the border into Cumbra as we share alot of radio and newstations with both sides of the border. We have radio cumbria, CFM and border news. Just a thought which might help with the current re homing situation. Liz Ps fingers crossed for all those waiting for their forever homes. |

BWS got a lot of air time on Northsound 2 one day last week. A mention every half hour, and a voice clip from Lorraine hourly. Thirty + Boxers to rehome.
Ironic, 'cause there is a big space in my heart and home right now! |

I think Northsound must be the North East. I know whe have some interest in the past from the west of the country. I am printing posters like crazy and telling them that being owned by a boxer is the best thing ever!

Have you been in touch with Lorraine Jill?
Liz, normally with local radio stations, there is somewhere that you can put charity items. The reason why Lorraine was on Northsound is because it's her "local" radio station, I used to get things on my local one too. The main problem with BWS being a "national" charity is that there is no local tag. Your local radio station would want to know about the local connection to the charity etc etc, like an event or something like that. I used to write off to the local radios when events were happening. Maybe you could do a joint thing with Amanda and promote BWS locally? |

Sadly my dad has died recently so havent been functioning that well. That said, i am now looking for things to keep myself busy so will contact Amanda and see what we can come up with. Wonder if we can get Pets at Home to do something with us though i know they are currently sponsering a local pet rescue. I will get my thinking cap on.

Boxer Welfare Scotland have support from Pets at Home nationally, so although the local store supports one rescue, they can help BWS too. They should really have posters up etc, although I don't think they are being sent out to update the stores any more (our local one hasn't had a poster since November)
So sorry to hear about your Dad Linda, that's really sad for you xx |

No, have not had any contact with BWS for 2 years, as you will know. I would have specific requirements which may not "conform" with BWS guidelines. OH wants "us" to wait a year till we take on another pup, I want one now! A white boy! He'll probably throw far east holidays and/or a motorbike at me in the mean time. A couple of OH friends just did a trial bike tour of India, Jaipur to Movalam over a month, so we have a template to work off, and it sounds like an adventure holiday of a life time. Don't know if I'm pysically up for it though. Am being pushed by DAWGS into fostering though. Friend is looking at breeding off their Malamute, offered me first pick of litter. Beautiful dogs, but hard work, OH has the patience and consistency for that, plus it fits with his wait a year thing. I miss Daz so much. |

I can imagine, there's nothing like an empty boxer space. Good luck with the fostering if you go ahead and good luck with the pup if you go down that route. xx
