Awww thank you all
![]() I have only just seen your posts, I haven't been on here for about a week and so was suprised to see a post with my name in the title. ![]() I am sure since those posts, some of you had have things happening closer to you too and i hope none of you or any of your family have been caught up in anything serious ![]() It was getting really scary at one point. I thought the riots in Tottenham on the Saturday were bad (that is only two to three miles from me), but could not believe it when it started spreading across London on the following nights! Monday night was the worst, I went to bed around 10.15pm and woke up at 12.30am as Brendan was getting back in bed, he had come downstairs to put the news on and let the dogs out and he told me things had got a lot worse, we put the tv on in the bedroom and after about half an hour i knew i would not be able to get back to sleep, worrying if anything else was going to happen near us. We are only 3 roads away from the main junction in our Town Centre and had anything happened would have been right in the centre of it. Both me and Brendan had to start work at around 5.30am in the morning and it was so hard leaving the house empty and the dogs alone to go to work. Luckily that night everything was quiet around here, i think they had cleared out the best shops the night before! I was really shocked on Tuesday morning when i went to work - there is a 24 hour shop / off licence just a couple of minutes walk from my house on the main road - They were closed! In the six years that we have lived here, it was the first time i have known them to close - even Christmas day they are open throughout. Everyone was really worried about what would happen! When i got to work i was only a couple of miles away from the Sony centre which was set on fire. it seemed as if the whole area was covered in a really thick black fog - that fire was still burning this morning, I think it has finally been put out now though, I couldn't see any smoke as i left work today. I do love living in London, but not for the last 5 days. Things have really quietened down now though and hopefully the police have now got it all back under control. But thank you all once again for your posts - really put a smile on my face when i saw them ![]()
