It is very quiet on here at the moment. I am assuming Karen is now away on her holiday, Jacquie has disappeared again, no word from Helen. Paul......., Amanda......... Anyone out there?????????????
Everyone must be enjoying all the lovely weather we are having at the moment. Oh well I will just talk to myself!!!!!!

I just recently started a new job so have been settling in. Now doing a fulltime job in part time hours. Not quite the thing I was supposed to be doing when I applied for reduced hours nearly 10 months ago. Girls are fine. I got some nice piccies of Rosie but they are on disk at mums so must get them copied and on site. Rosie is so camera shy. Katie photographs well anytime! Helen

WOW - Paul that has come around so quickly. Make sure we get some piccies of the new arrival - once he arrives!!! Hope all goes well - you are going to be a daddy again!!!!! Amanda - Have you set the date yet for the wedding and any decisions on the honeymoon destination yet? We went to the Dominican republic for ours and it was absolutely gorgeous. We are going back for our fifth anniversary in about a year and a half. It is a hard decision to make - I know i changed my mind about eight times before i finally chose the Dominican republic. It is the holiday of a lifetime so there is always a lot of pressure to get it right. Good luck with your search. Good luck in your new job Helen - I know exactly what you mean about extra work. My job used to be pretty relaxed - i could have a nice easy day if i chose to, now i am flat out the whole time, I have also have an assistant now but even still there are no more easy days for me!! I hop eit all works out well in the end.

Ah Caroline, the Dominican republic - we also went their on our honeymoon in 1999. Fantastic place and the people are so friendly, it's interesting seeing the difference between the swanky hotels and how the ordinary people live.
As with most countries that are still developing and catching up with the likes of the USA, UK, Canada, france Germany etc the staff at hotels must find it hard to work in such plush surroundings and then return to very basic homes with few real world comforts, it is unfortunate that they are exploited by the corporate giants that build these massive hotels. The Dominican Republic is not on it's own however it seems the norm in all the very popular aspirational destination whether that be Cuba, Mauritius, seychelles, barbados etc etc - the contrasts in lifestyle are at complete opposites. Anyway rant over - what is more important is that the local people are very warm, friendly and welcoming if you make the effort, the country itself is fabulous from the scenery to the sea which is just like a bath temperature wise. Lots of wildlife and activities to see and do. If I had the opportunity to go somewhere tropical, relaxing and fun it would be the Dominican Republic for sure!!! It's a fantastic place!! Amanda if you want PM me and I may be able to help save you some money on the cost of your holiday - I can't say how on an open forum but trust me I have ways and means as I work in the motivation industry! I'm back - lots to say and some photos to share but I will save them for another day!
Paul, tell Lynne to hang on til 20th - it's my youngest's birthday and the anniversay of man landing on moon - may as well have a date to remember!! Hope she is fine though and not suffering too badly in the heat. Ditto the good luck in the new job Helen!! Hope the migraine has cleared now Amanda and Caroline ....... stop talking to yourself!! |

We have set a date for 14th July 07 which is quite scary as this time nxt yr I will be married.
Mike and I had our first hols together in the Dom Rep and it was really great. So far we're looking at Bali or poss back to Thailand. I have to say that we have considered loads of places but Thailand has spoilt us. The acc is stunning and the food and drink is so cheap that its been really hard to consider all inc again. Plus I've got expensive tastes for a paupers purse which doesn't help!!!!!! Amanda  |

All sounds wonderful Amanda! I envy you in a way, but in another I don't - I can't travel, too scared!! I spent my honeymoon at Kyle of Tounge right up the top of Scotland - good job I love my own country so much.
14th July eh - sounds a good day to me. You could have a carriage of white boxers leading you up the aisle ......... and round the font, through to the kitchen and back down the aisle! Marriage is great Amanda -I should know I have tried it twice now! |

Lynnes still holding out, or should I say the baby is!!! This heats making things very uncomfortable for her and Mair doesn't help as she is constantly "doing" stuff at 1 million miles per hour!!

Amanda - the next year will go so quickly for you - being tied up in all them wedding preparations. We started planning ours 18 months before the big day and it came around so quickly.
Are you getting married in UK or are you having a combined wedding & honeymoon abroad? Wherever you choose i am sure it will be absolutely wonderful. I would have to say Dominican Republic was definately my best holiday so far - but then we are going back to Corfu for the third time in a few weeks time, so that is also special to us!!!

Hi folks sorry Ive not been such a frequent visitor, loads of stuff going on at the minute, my mum & two aunts were in a car crash-mum is ok physically but is'nt quite there yet mentally-panic attacks, my aunts are ok too, a new kitchen has just been put in, hall & stairs in the process of being done plus loads of other stuff , its been a nightmare to be honest but finally hoping to get some time to myself.
Amanda I know how severe migraines feel I get then too, they are horrific so I hope you are feeling much better now. ive never been anywhere as exotic as Dominican Rep though my brother has been he loved it, friends go to Thailand & they love there, Im sure you'll find something special, my dream destination for a holiday is Alaska. Joe & I are off hopefully at the end of the month camping up the West Coast Scotland, we are heading for Lochinver where i have family, we are going to climb Ben Nevis, visit the Lost Valley at Glencoe plus other sight seeing. I can't wait. maybe the fairies will come in when I am away & finish the decorating........ if only Yvonne |
