Just realised that most of the pictures on the Ben More page as they aren't all just Mull!!
This is the view I would love to see, but don't have the energy to climb the hills!! ![]() I just love Mull, it has a magic all of its own, and you can't help but be relaxed and calm! Our cottage looks over Fishnish Bay, so we will be spending many hours looking for otters etc, as well as scouring the island for sea eagles etc. |

Was there all last week - and oh my lord was it fantastic!!
I went to Fingal's cave - ON A BOAT (obviously) saw Puffins and can now die a very happy woman!! Saw sea eagles on the nest and off, golden eagles, ganets, sea birds too many to mention, porpoise and oh yes .... did I mention the PUFFINS!! A truly glorious week - the conservatory had under floor heating and a view to die for so didn't get to bed until midnight each night after watching the bats etc! Funniest thing was Sunday night - have spent the whole of the world cup season carefully avoiding any matches (cant stand football even if Scotland are playing!) and where do I end up for the final Italy v France???? In an Italian restaurant!! Have to say though, I can't think of a better place to have watched it - the atmosphere was fantastic and, thankfully, Italy won so the staff were very happy bunnies!! Sasha had a ball, although the swallows flying around the cottage did drive her nuts! She was very well behaved and didn't stress out at all - we were even able to leave her in the cottage a couple of times to save taking her out in a hot car. She slept in the conservatory at night and didn't cry for us once and ..... no puffing and panting!! Oh apart from the PUFFINS I saw at Staffa!! Did I mention those??!! Will post piccies soon! |

What can I say? the country of my birth in all its glory, what a shame I've never been that far up the country.
The word stunning doesn't come close. Amanda PS one of the kids I work with is Balamory Crazy and I mean one track mind crazy so he'd be very jealous that you'd been there. He even has the maps in school defaced due to marking out the route from where he lives to where he needs to go. Bless him |

Did I mention Puffins Caroline??!! I have always wanted to see them - it was a lifetime ambition so I was extremely chuffed and have photos to prove it. We had a picnic on Staffa Island (Fingals Cave) and sat by some burrows in the vain hope that one would pop back with some food but no luck! We saw them on the sea later on when we were taken round the north of Staffa.
Amanda, I have loads of photos of "Balamory" and will be more than happy to send some! Have even got some video of Natalie doing the "what colour house" song at the harbour! I am going to upload all the photos soon so I should be able to share some of the stunning countryside with you all. |
