If I don't get any snow this time I am going to be really miffed - it's just not fair!! What's the point of living this far north if I don't get any of the good stuff! Jill, if you get loads of it, send it my way please!! |

Here, we have had snow flurries(not quite a blizzard) on and off since 7pm, There is maybe 1.1/2" thick blanket.
Surely you will get some snow this time Karen. |

Well we have a dusting of snow this morning, but hopefully there is more on the way.
Sasha had her first play in it first thing - charging around the garden like an idiot! Am hoping there will be enough to chuck a few snowballs at her later on!! No schools closed in Moray, but your way looks bad Jill?? |

The snow has been off and on all day, including total white-outs.
134 schools have closed by lunchtime. Most roads are passable with caution, but this is deteriorating rapidly. And, of course, Daz can't get enough of it. |

Just caught the local news. Over 150 schools in the area are closed.
The main North, South and West roads are described as treacherous, with numerous incidents. One multi vehicle crash on the A90 Southern route is taking hours to clear. Forecast is for plenty more snow. |

Its gone cloudy and grey here again - few flakes are starting to arrive. Of course this is only because I have to go out in it and get my daughter!! The blizzard will be over once I am tucked back up inside my house!!
If you want snow Paul, move to Braemar. I am reliably informed that it is the highest village in Scotland?? Did anyone hear about that poor RAF Search & Rescue helicopter team? They had to walk off the hills when their seaking's rotors froze! It's still "parked" in a corrie in the Cairngorms waiting for the weather to improve! |

Yes it came from Lossie. My friend's hubby was the pilot! Apparently at one point he was flying by instruments alone before he could get a visual reference - scarey huh.
Just shows what these guys go through to rescue folk from the hills!!! |

Scarey stuff with the chopper, were they on their way to rescue somebody.

We had a snow shower that lasted all of five minutes - and it was whilst i was at work - of course everyone rushed to the window to have a look and then the sun came out again! The weather says it will be -2 C tonight so i expect i will have to scrape ice off the car window at 5 o'clock tomorrow morning, but i bet we won't get any of the nice white fluffy stuff!!

Yes they were on a rescue mission. They had just lowered the winchman when a blizzard came in and they lost all visual! Then the rotor blades froze over so they had to "park" it! The person got rescued and the mountain rescue team had to walk them all off the hill - that's when you know it's bad weather!

I know, it's pretty rough out there just now. Hubby was in Basra for a week the other week and that was scarey enough.
It's a thankless task what our service folk are doing, just hope they wont have to do it for much longer. |

We got 5" of snow over-night and another 3" on the way allegdly!!

Neither do we have any snow, them blooming Penines take it all before it gets to us. Looked at the weather forecasT today, Ireland had it, Scotland had it, the east coast and wales - Cumbria just had a blooming big sun! Of course its a different story in summer when Cumbria doesnt have a big sun!!!!

Gloom gloom - when I had the girls out this morning - we got hail stones on us! Well they were light ones but the girls were not impressed! We have had hail, snow and sleet today and cold enough tonight for ice - ugh.
Liz - I take it you live in Cumbria - you will have to wave across to me on a sunny day - on a nice bright day we can clearly make out the outline of Cumbria across the Irish sea!! Helen

We finally got some snow! We had that bit there awhile ago and then nothing...........my daughter has been so upset since she got a snowmobile for christmas!! Now if it will just stay here until the weekend than maybe Courtnie will get to ride her machine! This has been a crazy winter here, I am in Canada for goodness sakes, we should have more snow!!!! Our town has a "winter carnival" every year, nothing fancy but fun. Most of the stuff had to be cancelled
 The skating on the rink was cancelled, not cold enough to freeze, then the tobagganing was cancelled, kinda hard to sled on the GRASS!!! The tree burning still went on but it was a mess, instead of snow, we had tons of mud!But we now have some snow finally! I would love to share a picture with you but....my daughters friend dropped my digital camera :screams: :screams: :screams: :screams: :screams: Good to see some of you enjoying the snow! |

WE GOT SNOW TODAY!!!!
Though it wasn't the cold icy outdoor type......... Tia,Kirei and Henry decided to destroy the sleeping bag that was their bed and when i got in from work there was white stuffing all up the stairs and across the landing. It really did look as if it had been snowing indoors!! No real snow for us however - a friend at work told me it was snowing and when i went to the window five minutes later the sun was shining! Either she was telling fibs or it was the quickest snow shower ever. There was a thick frost on the car windscreen this morning and our weather reports say we may get snow this evening or overnight although it is so rare for it to actually settle here. I am so jealous of all you lot with your snow

Well we still have that smattering of snow, but it has finally done its job as far as the children are concerned .......... the schools are closed today! More snow on the way apparently, possibly even into next week. Nicki I can't believe you don't have snow - you were supposed to be the only one who was guaranteed to have it!!! |
