Cheap EJ22 HP boosts?
I have been offered a running 1991 legacy wagon with an EJ22 motor in it. The motor has a bad head gasket which I know how to fix. However, With it whopping 130 hp, I may find this motor even mounted in a VW pan, not as much fun as Id like.
I had a 1983 RX-7 (115 HP, 2190 lbs), that was alot of fun, mostly due to the rotary motor in it. Im seeing this being about the same in power to weight ratio.

Ideally, Id like to be playing closer to the 250HP mark on this EJ22. Any ideas?

I plan on a custom exhaust,
Can anyone help?

well my two cents are: i have 1 92 legacy sedan with an ej22 and i had an 82 rx7 i am opting to go rotary bug

Are you driving a bus? A bug weighs well under 2100 lbs. Mine weighs 1480. 130 HP and even 1800lbs would be a lot better than 115 and 2190...
